Who: LSU Tigers (1-0) vs Kennesaw St Owls (0-1)
What: Legends Classic 1st Round
When: Monday, November 16th - 8:00pm
Where: PMAC (13,215, 45th largest in D-I)
How:
***TV: ESPNU
***Radio: 98.1FM
***Stream: ESPN3.com

After an 81-70 victory over McNeese St on Friday night, the LSU Tigers play in the opening round of the Legends Classic as a regional host in the PMAC. The Tigers were led by their freshman with Blakeney (22pts, 10rebs) and Ben Simmons (11pts, 13rebs, 5ast) each recording double-doubles and Brandon Sampson tallying 18 points. Kennesaw State were losers in Tuscaloosa on Friday dropping a game to Alabama 77-64.

Projected Starters:

LSU Tigers (1-0)

#55 Tim Quarterman (6'6" 190 Jr) 11pts, 6rebs, 3:1ast/to
#0 Brandon Sampson (6'5" 186 Fr) 18pts, 3rebs
#2 Antonio Blakeney (6'4" 190 Fr) 22pts, 10rebs, 1:0ast/to
#25 Ben Simmons (6'10" 240 Fr) 11pts, 13rebs, 5:3ast/to, 2blks
#3 Elbert Robinson (7'1" 290 So) 8pts, 4rebs

Kennesaw St Owls (0-1)

#4 Yonel Brown (5'9" 160 Sr) 40Min/gm, 34pts, 10rebs, 1:5ast/to
#0 Kendrick Ray (6'1" 180 Jr) 17pts, 5rebs
#21 Nick Masterson (6'5" 180 So) 0pts, 1reb
#1 Nigel Pruitt (6'7" 180 Sr) 1pts, 2rebs
#14 Aubrey Williams (6'6" 225 Jr) 6pts, 12rebs

The first thing you notice in Kennesaw St is the game Yonel Brown had last week. The 5'9" senior played every minutes and scored 34 and grabbed 10 rebounds. LSU will try and use their length to keep the small guard from scoring at a pace like that.

LSU outrebounded McNeese 46-39 and will try and continue to dominate the boards against a much smaller Owls team.

Prediction:

LSU 1.2PPP
Kennesaw St 0.9PPP
Possessions 73

LSU 88
Kennesaw St 66

Tickets available at the LSU Ticket Office or online at LSUTix.net.

Hopefully we play this one start to finish. Want to see Simmons take more control offensively and show off some scoring this time.

Just like against McNeese nobody should be able to guard him whatsoever.

ER III quietly had a good game against McNeese. He should dominate guys like these, 6'6 225 center? Jeebus.

Yea they really lack height.

Elbert was probably the thing that made me feel best of all the positives of the McNeese game. I thought he looked very good but he has to stop fouling. I just rewatched the game and really liked what I saw from him offensively and rebounding.

This little dude made some ridiculous shots Friday. He was definitely fun to watch.

How the hell did he get 10 rebounds at 5'9"?

I didn't realize he had that many watching the game, but our bricks don't bounce softly down to the big men He really was everywhere. I didn't see another guy on the floor that Bama had to worry about, yet this guy still got his points. I have no clue why he's at a school like Kennesaw other than being short.

That's how a lot of guys like this end up at schools like Kennesaw. "Too small/short" for your position.

Looking for Epps to be able to stay on the floor a little longer tomorrow night. Gotta avoid those fouls, brother.

Crowd for the opener looked better than I had anticipated.

I think fans are really excited about this season.

From LSUSports release...

The announced crowd of 11,697 was LSU's largest in a home opener since Nov. 22, 1991 (13,113 vs. Northeast Louisiana), the start of Shaquille O'Neal's third and final season as a Tiger.

Ugh I forgot my tickets at home in Hammond. I won't have enough time after getting back to drive back to BR.

Are you a season ticket holder? You can get them to print out a new copy of your tickets at the ticket office. They will have to do the entire season though I believe. I had it done a couple years ago when I forgot a ticket.
