I know he had some grade &/ or transcript issues. Anybody hear anything?

He's enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC already.

At juco, will ball for us next year
His high school was shitty, couldn't get him the credits needed, then it shut down after his senior year

Hope he does give us another look after he gets his grades in order then. He's a specimen for sure.

He is definitely JUCO for 2015 and hopefully able to report for Spring training in 2016 if we are lucky. Could just be another J. Cutrer situation.

Yeah they think he can be here in January and be ready for spring ball if he takes care of business. I'm done counting on these guys to take care of business though

Serious Question: I know we've had some JUCO players in the past. But have we ever had a player who committed, went the JUCO route then ended up playing for us?
Closest thing I can think of is Justin Vincent who went to a prep academy. All the JUCOs like Liggens and Cutrera never end up coming back though.

Not sure but I think Cutrer would've been the first. Watch, if a guy like Nate Craig-Meyers wants on board, Martin will disappear into thin air....

I'm pretty sure Claude Wroten (or another big DL around his time) was a JUCO guy. Wroten had good success at LSU.
It was Wroten: LINK
2 years at LSU after JUCO that he parlayed into ALL SEC and All American as a Sr.
ETA: oops... Didn't catch the qualification of originally committed to LSU, then JUCO, then LSU. Wroten does not meet that criteria.
We have missed out on some big ones like Brandon Jacobs and another WR, who did commit to LSU and then ended up at Auburn.

Deangelo Benton is the auburn WR, although he didn't really do much either. He was actually committed to LSU again but backed off once he saw us go all in on Reuben Randle. The staff made the correct call on that one.

Avery Peterson went to a prep academy and then came to LSU. Maybe not the best example.
As far as a true sign and place, I can't remember any in my time following LSU recruiting closely. Prettymuch have to assume if they don't make it the first time around then they're gone.
