I understand that their commitments are not tied together and we could very well land both or neither.

Just curious what you all feel about the situation.

I personally can see us losing McKinley to texas but getting Simmons, and I'm fine with that trade off.

I want and fully expect to get both, all Texas has is money that's it. No nfl development no conference or national championship.Lsu is best program by far. #NFLSU

I think it would be very good to land McKinley. LSU has done very well with kids from Acadiana High for many years. This is a pipeline that would be good to continue.

I’ll take that trade all day. Simmons has the ability to be a game changer immediately.

Another thread where recency will determine the answers. I'm sure there's a thread here somewhere that asked this a month ago(let's say when Simmons was trending away)and I'd be willing to wager huge money the answers are different. Heads are spinning trying to figure out which way is up. Funny thing, we get to do it all again, over the same kids, in December. Relax, no one will be signing this month. Just announcing a leader which will likely change weekly until ESD.
Even the LA love fest is losing water. Lots of hypocrites regarding those Louisianimals suddenly.

I think people are blowing up the dline coach thing a bit too much. Anyone with sense knows this program is in great hands with Brian Kelly and from reading between the lines Lindsey will probably be back next season or some point. It’s not like he stepped down just to the side to handle personal issues.

Elite pass rushers are harder to find than impactful defensive tackles but since we don't know how either will pan out, it's impossible to determine what's the better scenario.

Pass rushers get paid more in the NFL for a reason. Give me the more impactful position if I have to choose

As hard as we fret over it each year, it always works itself out in the end. The guys from LA that want to leave the “State of Football”, as BK likes to call us, never pan out and we always end up with the BETTER player.

2019 Sopsher to Bama (we all know how that went)

2020 SVP to Georgia (this one actually hurt)

2021 Kaine Williams to Bama (haven’t heard about him since)

2022
Jacoby Mathews & Leveon Moss to A&M (Harold Perkins to LSU)

Aaron Anderson Shazz Preston Kendrick Law to Bama (Anderson already back home)

2023 Arch Manning (we were never getting) & Derek Williams to Texas

Javien Toviano to LSU

2024?
Dom & Mack leaning Texas? Simmons & Durham leaning LSU?

Point I’m trying to make you can’t stop kids that want to leave the state.

But it seems we’ve always gotten the better end of the deal in the end!

Go Tigers!!

I think it’s more important to keep the big fish in state. We’ve had a few big ones leave state the last few years and we have to stop the bleeding.

Don’t forget we got Jamal Adams after Hootie Jones committed to Alabama. That worked out pretty well for us.

Assuming they both turn out to be great college players, I'd perfer McKinley. LSU. needs Tackles bad but has some high end edge rushers already.

I'll take the scenario of having Perkins and Simmons wreaking havoc on a passing game.

You need guys to plug up the middle to stop the running game. If a team can get 5 yards a carry, they won’t have to worry about a pass rush.

Dude, give it a rest. I normally like and agree with a lot of what you post, but we get it.
