Would we be OK with Carter Bradley as the QB in this class?

Supposedly he was on campus for the camp.

He's a 3-star, but his offer list has some pretty decent offensive programs in it - Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Wisconsin, West Virginia among them. Apparently he was a Matt Canada contact at Pitt.

We are in a good spot with him. Seems to be between LSU and WVU

Seems like he's got a live arm.

And he isn't fast, but he does have some ability to get out of the pocket and make plays.

You're not looking for a marquee QB in this class, I don't think. You want somebody who's willing to play behind Brennan and Narcisse for a little while if need be.

Any QB that wants to come is welcome.

Exactly. He could be a baller in a couple years under Canada's watch. And he's the type of guy who wouldn't mind a good qb to join him in 18' or a top guy in 19'. Wouldn't tuck his tail and transfer like other guys! Loves competition

This is a safe face recruitment for year 1 of Cananda time here at LSU. He has to have a QB recruit. He will never play at LSU but will hold a clipboard. 2019 they have to find a big time name.

Speak for yourself but I really think he could challenge the other qb's for the job. He's a solid qb who could take to Canada's system very well

Perfectly fine with Bradley in this class, but Canada will need to hit on a bigger one next year

Will be on campus for the elite camp this weekend, unless I'm wrong. Curry arrived early, and thus the commitment.

You CANNOT overly address the importance of the QB position. We were out matched for years by a team to the east because they had care takers of the position. McElwin, McCarron, Simms were all not NFL caliber QB's(besides back ups). They didnt have to be all PRO, and neither do LSU QB's.

We can be playoff contenders will a fortified OL, specifically OT, and a smart QB with a decent arm. I love 4th or 5th year system QB's that learn, study, practice and prepare - they handle SEC defenses with better decision making usually.

This kid would be a welcome commit IMO. He is elusive, has great pocket awareness, and seems to be decent with accuracy. The biggest issue I see with him is that all but once or twice in his highlights he throws to his first read. That may be able to be helped over time if he is patient and learns from Canada.

I would much rather stack QB numbers than add a 4th or 5th edge rusher to this class, but again I am just callin it like I see it.

Remember everyone loved the talent of Jamarcus Russel, but it was 5th year slightly above average Matt Flynn that won the hardware...

Flynn was highly rated and definitely more than slightly above average. Jamarcus Russell was just a generational talent at QB. If he had come back in 2007, that team goes undefeated easily.

Youre absolutely correct, but the point remains the same. Most people were riding the Russell train and Flynn was an after thought through the duration of their careers. Let me rephrase.

There is no bigger boom/bust potential with QB recruits. They are extremely hard to evaluate, so you want to take at least one QB every year, and in some years 2 if you can afford to.

Russell Wislon was a 2 star coming out of highschool, and Hunter Kiel was a 5 star. Enough said...

100% agree.

And personally, this kid is a low 4 star talent.

Granted the recruiting evaluators have seen much, much more tape than me.

You take a QB every year. Sucks that we lost a good instate one but it sounds like Bradley is no scrub.

We need to build up that position w/ more talent.

True, but it's so hard to evaluate, especially on tape. I did see that the kid did take a good number of snaps under center, which is a really good thing. He has excellent pocket awareness, and like I said, the only flaw I can really see is that he seems to lock onto his primary receiver.

That said, he is scheduled for the skills camp this weekend, so I trust that Canada will be able to evaluate him better in person, and if he deems him offer worthy, then that's good by me. I dont care how many stars he has; QB eval is a crapshoot, and I trust Canada more than 24/7

Yes he is arriving today! If all goes well I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls the trigger. Really likes Canada and loves LSU

Well, I trust your sources, so far you have been solid by me. I appreciate the info as always. I still need to shoot you that email when I get a chance; I have had a lot of craziness going on at the homestead.

I, for one, am pulling for him and hope he commits; would be ecstatic!

chwarren23@gmail.com email me anytime man! But I do the edits for most of the players so my sources are the players themselves. That's why I don't really like to say too much! Can't pull shite like Hamm did. not fair to the players and who wants to talk to someone who puts stuff out you don't want known.
