Not flaming, just don't understand how we came down signing day and only had one LB option. Just can't comprehend how this happened. Overall, very good class. Just hope this major miss doesn't come back and bite us in the arse.

It obviously just wasn't an area of concern from the coaches.

Maybe because we already have seven on the roster & the staff didnt think it was a priority?Maybe the staff thinks we have better options next year? They didn't push for McGinnis so maybe it was a "swing for the fences or don't swing at all" deal?
Does this help your comprehension?

You are correct, there are 7 on the current roster. 2016 there could potentially be 4 if beckwith heads to the NFL. Are you telling me Lewis and mcginity were the only Lb'ers in the country deserving of a look. If so, your comprehension is worse than mine.

We didn't even offer McGinness. We offered Lewis, Roquan Smith and the dude that committed to FSU earlier in the year. 2016 is stacked and those were the only LBs they considered a take for this year with 2016 being so loaded. Calm down bro. Half our class next year will be LBs and DTs

The coaches probably didn't see any LB's that they liked in the Southeast. The few ones they did like ended up choosing other schools and the rest of the good ones were in other parts of the country. Wierd shite happens like that...kind of like how next year Louisiana produces 6 4* defensive tackles.

although I think LSU should have gotten at least 1 LB this year, next year is the year they load up as they did this year with OL as a major need... need to take 3-4 and after a quick search it looks like they are in the hunt for some of the top LB's in the nation next year

Keion Joyner

That's how I feel about this same thread being started 10 different times in one day.

We never needed LBs. It's a myth.

In this class, who do you replace, for a linebacker the coaches have more than likely eliminated as a prospect?

This. We had room to take a LB or two, but obviously the coaches do not think there is a problem with depth, so I'm not worried.

The way this recruiting cycle played out, the strategy was to only go after elite LBs, and not overcrowd the position due to the strong talent in 2016.

LB isn't a problem headed into next season, when it becomes a problem is when we lose Debo, Louis and likely Beckwith after next season and are left with 5 LBs for 2016 assuming Devin Voorhies makes the move to LB. The coaches are going all out for 2016 LB talent though and have offered Keion Joyner and Michael Divinity already. I think they want to take 4 LBs for 2016, there is a lot more talent out there next year.

Maybe one of the three TE prospects, we are stacked at TE and never throw them the damn ball anyway. Yes, I know we use them a ton in our run blocking schemes but LB was a much bigger neeed than TE IMO. That being said, I hope it all works out just as we all do in the long run. Just a little concerned about depth in 2016. It's not like we have not screwed up a recruiting cycle before at a position of need. 2014 DT depth should be a grand reminder.

Please stop saying that the DT depth was a recruiting failure. The current roster is stacked with 4*'s. This was a failure of the Dline coach to develop depth. It is also a reason that the Dline coach was replaced

1 will be a tackle, 1 will be a FB, & 1 will be a tight end.
We lose 2 tight ends this season & are adding 1. I wouldn't say we are stacked. I hate to sound cynical but Moreu has other value as well - his grades.

It would be awesome to get most of those DTs.
It's time for LSU to become DTU and make the Alashama Skoal Drool Things look like little girls.
