Players off the top of my head who suffered ACL tears early in their careers (later than Kwon)

Frank Gore
Willis Mcgahee
Jerry Rice
Tom Brady
Roman Harper
Edggerin James
Donovan Mcnabb
Braylon Edwards
Kevin Faulk

I think those guys came back pretty strong....

Kwon is a big time prospect even with the injury.

to be fair, davis is a big dealwhen looking at this class in a vacuum. he is not a big deal when looking at the team 2+ years from now.

the only real problem I have is it leaves us with only 4 lineman out of 22 commits and only one dl. that should not happen. wish we didn't lose miller and picked up dt briscoe.

LSU better plan on taking multiple DT/DEs this year. LSU will be losing a ton of lineman and probably two underclassmen on the dline. I'd say that is our biggest need with a big WR next year.

our needs for this year are pretty immense.

DT, QB, S, DE, Always need OL, RB.

In that order, imo.

and none of the other top rated guys ever did anything.

There is a reason the coaches wanted those guys. Yall need to get yall fricking heads out the sand. Yea we got some good recruits but we definitely missed out on some really good ones (in state at that) also.

There is a bad stigma around our program right now and today did nothing to help it go away. It is what is but sunshine pumping isn't the answer nor is being hateful towards our coaches.

If you are bothered by today, you have every right to be. If you are happy, you have every right to be. It is not a day where one voice is right, this class isn't good enough or bad enough to warrant either.

Well put, but the latter depends on how well LSU does at replacing depth in those next two years. Was it a huge hit? For rankings purposes, yes. Down the road it doesn't have to be.

S definitely a need.

I think DL is the biggest with S behind it. QB is always a need simply because we should take 1 every class, IMO. But we're not hurting for a QB with 4 on the roster now. I doubt Mett goes one and done too.

But we could potentially lose Reid, Montgomery and Mingo next year. DL/S has to be the biggest need, IMO.

Roaad,

You are being quite the jerk today. The previous poster did not suggest recruiting only 3 stars. He stated that the rankings are irrelevant once they hit the field. Nothing wrong with what he said. You are always going to have a 5 star bust like Davenport and 3 stars that play on Sunday like Jacob Hester and Morris Claiborne (very soon).

when all you can get is three star and some four star everyone sugar coats the class by saying we turn three stars into five stars. 90% of all five stars are super players. its plain and simple the BCS game is having its repurcusions on the recruiting trail. when your coach does not coach in a game where you have a chance to win the national championship it will have its paybacks. beleive it or not.

Pretty much. Facts speak for themselves. 5 star players have the highest % going to the NFL. With 4 star next, then 3 star, etc.

It has already been proven.

It's one season. This class is solid, but not spectacular. If LSu appears to recruit these solid but not spectacular classes next year we can start worrying.

And I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kwon was nothing more than a serviceable backup and special teamer.

From the videos I've seen, Deion Jones, Ronnie Feist and Lorenzo Phillips look the most impressive.

One DE/LB (whatever he is) should not mean the sky is falling. So many people we jacked up about this class when they woke up this morning, and as soon as one guy signs with Texas it turns to shite. We may have signed the best player from Alabama in Kwon Alexander (potentially).

Let's get ready for another great season. I think Les & Frank should get a pass. We are putting players in the draft yearly. 2 stars 3 stars and 5 stars. It's all irrelevant the day they step on campus.

I agree totally with what your saying!! The stars dont mean shite once they put pads on and its time to compete... and compete on another level different than high school where those players didnt really have much competition... throw them dogs in a real fight and see how they react then.... it brings out the best in some and the weakness in others..

Obviously our class could have been better if we would have won the game but if you follow recruiting you would understand that one year does not define a program. If we continue to be at the top of our conference we will continue to recruit well.

We have plenty of players in this class to be excited about. Jeremy Hill, Travin Dural, and Kwon alexander will be studs. If we make another run, the blue chips will take notice and come.

We seemed to do fine with worse classes in the past, so there's no need for all of this panic.

I wish TD would go to a policy of not allowing people with new accounts or fewer than 500 posts to post in certain time windows

We really don't need the influx of verbal diarrhea from alters and new posters after a big loss or around the national signing day. What we end up with is the lowest common denominator of some disgruntled guy posting while he weeps from both ends.

Has anyone of any positive note ever created a new account and logged in to share interesting or helpful new information on a day like today or the week of January 10? I think the answer to that is no. The more rational people are not going to do that then and there's no reason for TD to provide such an easy vehicle for the retards to spill their bile.
