chatuey-THAT'S exactly whom I compare Simmons with. His passing skills for a player his size are incredible. He sees the floor as well as anyone at the stage he is at. My comparison to Simmons and Lebron at the high school stage is that BOTH can grab a rebound and lead the break at their size.

That kind of talent doesn't come along often. And Simmons is doing this at 6'9 while Lebron was at best 6'7 in high school.

It would have been accurate to compare his impact to Kobe's, actually.

Simmons is the best prospect to come out since Lebron in many scouts eyes. He will bring LSU to the national championship

Lebron was 6'8 240 as a senior.

Agent-while that maybe what the media guide LISTED Lebron at, on my AAU team that played against him I had a 6'6 2G and 6'6 PG and BOTH were basically looking Lebron eye to eye. Anyway, we shall see how Ben develops.

I pulled up the draft combine measurements for 2003. The guys who are going to pay you usually make sure everything's legit.

No man, youre missing the piont. Lebron could have been pro in many sports. He is a physical FREAK. 6'8 ish 260 running like a gazell and jumping as well as anyone.

NO ONE was more talented than Lebron. They may have been more skilled, I'l give you that. But raw talent? No way.

Kobe and Lebron are different in their play type, Koby more finesse and LJ more physical.

I would probably take Koby in his prime over Lebron in his.

I think it would have been foolish to say that about Lebron in high school being as good as Koby, that's' exactly why its dumb to say Simmons and Lebron in the same comparative breath....

So you are incapable of comparing the skill sets of Highschool players?

NBAdraft.net has him as a mid 2nd rder in next year's draft. Haven't seen him on anyone else's radar.

Simmons went to LBJ Skill camp over the summer... It's a big event for the top high schoolers in the nation.

Well LBJ played in some games and wasn't going all out but was still playing. And then Simmons was matched up with LBJ. And was doing well. And LBJ got serious.

And a lot of scouts and analysts have said he's the best non post player prospect since LBJ.

You know nothing about this kid and are already bashing him and the fact that he's coming to LSU. When everyone else is ecstatic about it. What is your problem?

NO, but skill set is different from TALENT, raw physical talent, which Lebron had more of than damn near anyone ever coming out of high school.

Koby was pro when lebron was in high school. At that time Koby was better but was many years into his pro career.

Since you are a high school guru, what high school that Kobe attended are you gonna use for your speech as Simmons enters your virtual hall of fame.

I'll wager you ANY amount and be happy to bookmark Simmons doesn't parallel LJ's career stats.

GeeOH-Well you are contradicting yourself, you mention Kobe was pro when Lebron was in high school but yet isn't is the same deal with Ben and Lebron. My comparison is Ben in HIGH SCHOOL and Lebron in HIGH SCHOOL. And if you can't or don't see the TALENT that oozes from Simmons then I don't know what to tell you.

And most EXPERTS says Simmons is the best non-center in the high school ranks since guess who??? Lebron. And that INCLUDES some guy name Kevin Durant.

I'm NOT comparing Simmons to NBA Lebron, is that so hard to comprehend??? If BOTH were in high school right now and elgible for the DRAFT, I am willing to bet there would be mixed opinions on who would be the 1st pick in the draft.

Don't bother arguing with geeoh. Some people are think that lebron is the end all- be all and no one will ever reach him. The fact remains that Ben Simmons is every bit as highly thought of by scouts coming out of high school and has the potential and talent to be one of the best all time. I'm glad he's a tiger

I think Simmons has a quicker first step than Lebron. I think he would beat Lebron in the 40, cones, or shuttle. Lebron was bigger and more muscular at the same age. Just not taller.

Lebron also did not have as good of an outside shot in HS. Simmons has decent range and will just get better. Some weight room time will bring him to a whole different level, though where he is now is freakish.

I also hope that Simmons pending arrival keeps some of the other kids in school, just for a chance to play with a kid of his caliber.
