You see that more and more as certain schools fall further and further behind the curve.
You can tweak the hell out of gpa's at different schools but the ACT doesn't play that.
Let me axe you this: do you think a McNesse student with a 3.75 is likely to be smarter than a Yale student with a 3.10?

Discrepancies like this happen in all the time in multiple school districts. . .the fact that they are always accompanied by a "Louisiana public schools" comment says more about the numeracy, scientific literacy, and educational awareness of the populace in general than it does about schools public or private.
While I agree that high school grades are often more a product of stamina than aptitude. . .success on the ACT often has more to do with familiarity with its format (which can be gained by taking it multiple times). Thus, ACT no longer being an acronym but rather just a recognizable gate-keeper.
Let's see how he does on future opportunities before using his example to support previously held opinions.

He is probably taking easy classes,,,I remember being a senior and only taking the required courses and throwing in a half a day at career center got me a 3.6 gpa. I didn't take A.P english, A.P science or anything that would have made it difficult for me to maintain my gpa so i could play my senior year. It was cool then, it sucks now struggling with c. algebra and biology now.

It's easy Capitol.
Back in the 90's there was a star basketball player there that had something like a 3.5. He literally couldn't read.

With that kind of GPA, and the sliding scale, wouldn't he already be qualified?

3.6gpa at Capital= 1.5 at normal school. Dutchtown supposedly is letting Lacy drop classes to improve his gpa.

Thought I read a few years ago that LSU Lady BB Tiger team had a couple of players who could have graduated in less than 4 years. Thought that was kind of strange? Believe one was from Capitol HS the same school as Broadway?

Obviously you guys did not know Capitol is on the 10.0 point scale not the traditional 4 point everyone else uses. Capitol is one of the State take over schools and this was strategic plan implemented by the new principal. Now the Cat is out of the Bag sort of. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
