I like the qbs we have without Liggins. As long as we can sign the 2 recruits we have coming in this year.I dont think its a good thing when your qb can not make the grades. The qb should be one of the smarter players on the team and able to make quick decisions

Absolutely! Maybe he can transfer to the D-line with his athleticism and still contribute to the team.

You left out Jarrard Randle who some say has a better arm than Rivers. I am happy to see both Rettig and Jennings in the hopper but to be honest both have repaired knees (torn ACL's) and have to get through this year to even make it to LSU...

I have no disrespect to Jarrard Randle, but I just don't see a SEC level QB when I look at him playing. He's got an big arm, but that's about it. His accuracy and throwing motion really remind me of our last "dual threat" QB...

As soon as I saw Cajunbandit's post, I knew someone would finish it off. Honestly I wouldn't have expected it to be you. Good job.

I do agree that I want my QBs to be some of the smarter guys on my team. But (and I'm not saying this is the case but it very well could be) some guys just have football smarts or the " IT " factor. some guys may not be that good with math or may be lacking in the science class but know how to read a defense or go through their progressions. LSU has the opportunity to be picky and I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and trust their evaluations.

I mean no disrespect, but too many "duel-threat" QBs get compared to JJ. No disrespect to him because he won alot of games but from his highlight videos Randle seems to be pretty accurate with a decent throwing motion for a highschool QB. Now with Mett playing for hopefully two years and competition at the QB spot from Rivers and hopefully Rettig and Jennings, Jarrard may never play a down for LSU but it's hard to say he is not an SEC QB and compare him to JJ from a few 5 min youtube clips. For all we know, in three years he might win a Heisman while winning LSU a National Championship. I for one was very excited when he chose LSU after signing day

You left out Jarrard Randle who some say has a better arm than Rivers.

You obviously have never seen either throw the football. But, I am not going to knock either one because they both are being mentored by an excellent QB coach. A luxury that was sorely missed in the past.

Today, Wednesday, I ran into two Oxford T-shirt wearing football players in Wal-Mart. I asked them did they know Liggins and what happened to him. One was his cousin and both played with him. They said he made an 18 on his ACT and will be playing Jr.College for sure. He wanted to go out of state to play college ball. We'll see if he ever makes D1 ball.
