Is it training or having natural the size and athleticism? How much does being from a small school hurt you?

These are things that can't be acquired. Some people are just blessed with these attributes. Training can always be acquired

You hear more about raw talent/freak athleticism than you do about high skill level/technique, so I would say natural size and athleticism

Having the training and technique down helps greatly to mask athletic deficiencies.

This hurts a lot.

If you don't go to camps, not a lot of coaches will see you at small school games.

Nope, I've actually heard coaches say it hurts. Schools like Evangel/Curtis/WM, some think the kids are maxed out already.

Yep, they think they can take the raw and mold it. Like they say, "You can't teach speed. You either have it or you dont".

Spot on... Some programs like you mentioned are great programs, but the players have been maxed out a bit too much, kinda like travel ball for baseball, and colleges know it's unhealthy and stay away. Football has it to an extent, baseball is overkill with over training. Ruining kids permanently.

Not overtraining as much as they've been on sophisticated weight programs for 4 years so what you see is what you get.

Don't agree many kids at small schools get major offers

Training, training, and training my son was a 6'1" 139lb. freshman corner as a freshman he ran a 5.0 forty, 25 inch vert, an had very poor technique. My son started training for the speed deficiency an training for his position. Now he is a Dll signee for 2015 class an is 6'4" which is God given of course but he weighs 180 an runs 4.4 forty an has a 38 inch vert. Trust me those number increases are from hard training, his college coach told me the other day he will run with the ones all summer an he hasn't even stepped foot on campus. So training hard does work!

Size and athleticism. If you are small, you have to be off the charts with skill
or speed.

Size and athleticism.

You don't necessarily have to be good in high school, but if you've got size and athleticism and potential, you will garnish attention from schools. Coaches can mold someone like that.

And at the same time, there are a lot of really good high school football players that can't sniff a D1 field... And ts because of their lack of size / athleticism / potential.

size, athleticism and training are all great starts, but don't leave out heart, desire and coachability

performance.

you can be any size or apparent conditioning and if you do not compete in the area of expertise, you will end up in d-III.
