wow...so much more to read re RR and it just doesn't seem to end.

Don't know if this latest is true, but I too find it hard to believe a "blame it on the coach's" excuse on the eve of NSD. RR is a great talent and will stand out wherever he goes. If he thinks the best place for his talent is elsewhere, then fine, best of luck to him. But let's not start blaming the coaches if RR does decide to go elsewhere. This class is loaded even without RR, so they are obviously doing something right.

And let's not forget, no one player is bigger than LSU football, and if RR - the no 1 or 2 recruit in the country - is bothered by a little competition, then perhaps he should go elsewhere as LSU is not lacking in talent at the WR position.

Maybe Rueban's daddy talked to Rhett Bomar(SP) about how great the car dealerships are in Oklahoma.

Why can't we all just acknowledge the truth and quit skirting around it?
RR and his daddy KNOW that D-LO BENTON is BETTER than he is and will prolly be our 4th or 5th WR!! The truth hurts but it's the frickin truth!!

The kid just doesn't want to earn a spot and wants it handed to him--quit fricking being nice about this and just let him go to OU where he can pad his stats--I really wish him well!!

Just stating the truth! I've listened to his dad's interview twice and he made clear buddy!! "It's a depth chart issue" "It's not fair that him and Benton have to compete with each other"

Pretty frickin clear to me--they don;t wanna compete!

What did we say to RR? How could this in any way be construed that he was lied to about the situation? Im sure the coaches are telling what every other coach has said. There is nothing to lie about with regards to Benton, he has been with us since before our last title.

Basically that RR would be competing w/ Toliver for the no. 2 WR

vs

Benton would be competing w/ RR for the no. 3 spot

The've known for a while that Benton was a better player--Benton even said it today! This is just a low blow if you ask me by the dad!!

I saw both play each twice. They are both about the same talent. Both can play at the same time. This coaching staff will find a way to put them both in at the same time. But if this is a way to excuse Reuben by him signing elsewhere, then all this is moot.

Maybe Nicky hired someone who can do voices call in and say these things hoping to at least sway him elsewhere if not at bama.

I read that, he is confident like all these dudes are. Lets not pull the "I didnt want you anyway" routine.

Some of this stuff may have developed recently.

His dad said on the radio that what he was told was told to him on their visit.

Benton also just visited this weekend and it's possible that the coaches told him something different and told the Randle's when he got back.

Who knows......

So his response is to go to the media and say if Benton goes, we dont?

How frequently does back channeling occur during dead period? We need to throw smoke signals to the Randles from across town or something.

I wish I knew, but I don't.

I don't have any friends that coach at BHS anymore.

I'm pretty much done speculating what it's all about and what the father's ulterior motives are.

It'll all come out later, hopefully.

I don't understand this since RR was quoted previously as saying that he would love playing along side of Julio at Bama...

For this crap to come out this late is just a smokescreen. Benton has been a commit for 2 years. If RR is scared to compete with him then screw it- I think we got the better of the 2.

If they are trying to disguise RR's choice of another school with this, then that's cowardly also. Just commit, and deal with the fallout. If you feel like you are making the right decision for the the future of your son, then do it. But dont blame LSU or Miles- or expect them to toss Benton under the bus to cater to your son.

I still think Mr. Randle is a good dude. Just cant understand the whole Benton angle. I would be very shocked if Rueben was afraid of any competition seeing as how he is one of the best atheletes in the country.

There's no reason to throw LSU under the bus to soften the blow of negative reaction against your son. That's crap imo.

+1

hopefully there is more to this than we know.
