Basically, his father sounded pissed off at LSU for "lying" to him. He thought he would be competing with Tolliver, but supposedly Benton was told that Randle and him would be competing with one another. So, in turn the father blew it out of proportion and thinks that LSU is the only school "lying" to him.
Doesn't sound good for LSU. I'd say 50:50 between Bama and OU now, but the father did say that LSU was not completely out of the question.

If Randle signs with someone other than LSU because of what Randle's father said, it is a huge copout and I think it's crap on the part of the Randle family to "soften the blow" by spewing lies and making LSU out to be the bad guy.
If you want to sign elsewhere, simply say "this is where I think I'll be happier." There's no reason to throw LSU under the bus to soften the blow of negative reaction against your son. That's crap imo.

At any rate, venting now does not help the situation. Be Tiger fans first and message board posters second.

Correct me if I'm wrong.... but hasn't Benton been committed to LSU for two years. So, this comes to a surprise to the Randle family the day before NSD that he's going to LSU?
I agree this sounds like an excuse. I would love to see both Bastrop players at LSU but if competition worries RR then maybe he's not what we thought he was to begin with.
