Might be the best player to come out of LA in past ten years.

Smart is the best prospect to come out of LA since Monroe.

It won't. Having Simmons and not making the tournement won't help our chances. Passing on his buddies NOLA won't help either

We'll see just how good of a recruiter Johnny is if he's still at lsu

I sit in an area where I have a good view of the players families and recruits. Only game I saw Smart at was UK.

They didn't name him "Smart" for nothing!

The only reason he would have any interest in LSU whatsoever is that it's his local school. For a kid rated that highly, the pull is likely much stronger from a school with an actually competitive program, and I don't blame him one bit.

Agree with what TigersSEC2010 said.
It seems like there's a strong new found sense of state pride with the football prospects, maybe the same could influence basketball prospects too

He is a sophomore right now, but he will be too old to play senior year. He is going to end up at prep school and he is going to get a ton of offers. There is no chance LSU gets him.

Don't think this is true.

He's 16yrs old right now and his birthday is June 3rd. Meaning he will turn 17years old in a few months and will turn 19years old in June after his Senior year. The LHSAA rule is that you can't be 19years old before September 1st of that school year. And he won't be. Not really that close either. Makes the cut by 9months. So he will be perfectly eligible his senior year.

He still might go to 1 of those crazy prep / basketball schools. But it won't be because he's too old to play for Scotlandville his Senior year.

Just imagine the smoothness of Kevin Durant's game at point guard.
