What's the story on these Oxford guys?
Were they supposed to be something incredible and they just didn't pan out?
Is the rivals list of offers for Flint legit?

They were suppose to be this awesome group of players with Kwon being hyped as a top 50 national player their Junior years.
All 3 are D1 players, but they aren't can't miss prospects. Kwon is still the best of the bunch by far, but he even has his flaws. Flint, now committed to StAte, was once committed to Auburn, but was decided mutually that he should "move on". He's your typical Guard, strong, some bad weight, and not fast enough to stay outside(Ala-Miss game was a mess for him). I already mentioned Elston earlier, he's been all over the place with his favorite schools, no telling what is happening to make him change so often.
I don't buy Flint's or Elston's offer lists, and even Kwon's may have a few outdated offers. Some may have once been valid, but were dependent on time or another player...

Kwon's junior film looked legit. I'd have to think the reason a lot of teams backed off him is his injury. Which is probably a concern that it is worse than people think.

I think it was realized that he needed more work than previously thought, even before the injury. Not that I go by star rankings, but they've said they only give the highest rankings to player who can contribute early.
Kwon has a good frame, but he played around 195-205 his last 2 seasons. He has good weight room numbers, he just doesn't have the actual weight on him. Also, due to the way he he was used at Oxford, he is really inexperienced in coverage. The Yellow Jackets smartly used his unique speed to penetrate the backfield every play. It worked as planned, but it left Kwon with some undeveloped skills. Many took note in camps, as he didn't seem comfortable dropping back or in coverage drills.
I still think he'll be a good player, but only after a year or so of rehabilitation, weight/muscle gaining, and expert teaching by a LB coach...

Yeah, I was going to say the same.

Everyone has a role to play on defense. I like the idea of Kwon having the ability to penetrate and disrupt the backfield/apply pressure to the QB from the LB position. We have plenty of other LBs in this class...I'm sure at least one of them is capable of dropping back in coverage.

I think you sorta misinterpreted that earlier analysis. Kwon was physically superior to the offensive linemen he was playing against in HS (as most top rated LBs are in high school). So, his HS just sent him after the QB on every play. It's not so much that he's any better at rushing the passer than any other top LBs in this class. It's just all he did in high school so he has less experience and technique playing coverage. Other top LBs could've just rushed the QB every play in HS too, they just don't. It's more attributed to Oxford's defensive plan than his skills (not that there's anything wrong them).

Pretty much. He was used as a schematic advantage, much like Auburn commit Javy Mitchell(who is a mirror image of Kwon). Leeds used him as NG opposed to LB because he was quicker and stronger than most lineman. It's a brilliant move by the coaching staff for the good of the team, but Mitchell isn't gonna do the same when he gets to Auburn.
He is pretty fast for your average LB though, like 4.4 fast, but as he gains some much needed weight, it should slow down a bit. Still a rare attribute for the position...

Kwon IMO would be a great pickup for LSU if you guys could land him. I think the main issue for UA is his size. He is sort of a tweener between an OLB and Safety. I think if he ended up at UA he would play safety. I think in a D like LSU is would be very dangerous alot like the honey badger.

I like Kwon's ceiling. He sounds very raw with great physical attributes. Sounds like the perfect LB for Chavis. He can coach LBs too. I don't think his coverage abilities will be a big concern. LSU will use him to his strengths. Chavis likes speed and blitzing, so he sounds like a guy he'd love to develop. Raw and a high ceiling. Why not take a chance?

Somebody posted in a previous thread that Bama talked to Kwon about possibly playing safety. Till LC committed?
