It seems like there is a new CB to LSU each time I check in on 247. A commitment may not be too far off.

I heard on Culotta & The Prince this morning that he was expected to let things play out until the all star games, but who knows for sure? I cannot remember that scout's name that mentioned it, but he'd just been at the event where Mullen was at over the weekend. Same scout was visiting IMG today, so Ponamsky asked him about Manuel. Scout said FSU appears to lead handily. However, it seems that most people made the same assumption about Savion Smith.

It's been like that for a few weeks now

Mullen will not wait until the All-Star game. No later than the summer I guarantee it. FSU hurt themselves with Manuel a bit. He's more open than people think.

How so? Not recruiting him hard enough?

2016 NSD is such a looooonnnnnnggggg way off!!
nowadays, it's hard to fully get excited about a commitment, IMO.... recruits continue to play the game, seek attention, change their minds, etc. so much more frequently since social media has taken off....
i honestly think it is so much harder now to KEEP a commit, rather than getting them to commit.... until the fax comes in, i don't trust ANY of them at their "verbal" word, unless i have sources outside of pay sites telling me otherwise....

CB is the one position I expect to have 3-4 early commitments for 2016. There may be a little shuffling in December, but there is just so much interested talent at DB, and LSU can't take 6 guys at CB this year. Mullen and Ladler seem very interested, so I think both will commit before long. That's just my feeling though.

so if mullens and ladler commit where does that leave fulton? Surely we have a spot for him no matter what? It's gonna be a shame to let all this secondary talent go but it is what it is

This is just...what?
How many kids that commit to LSU early flip? I'm not saying it can't happen but this is just not a fact-based opinion.

Some people are assuming the leak of his commitment, which he later denied, has upset him and turned him off a little. Personally think its bullshite, as do I with his explanation of the commitment/no commitment story. The text message he sent the FSU reporter is public. He committed to FSU. He just flipped the script when it went public. Lesson to be learned by the young man. If you don't want something public, don't tell, text or anything else to a guy that works in an industry where the public pays his bills. These fricking kids these days are amazing.
In the end it doesn't matter. Setting up to be a typical FL kid recruitment. Lots of twists and turns, multiple leaders or rumored ones, multiple visits, and just all around drama until he signs. Probably a lot like Cowarts and Jeffersons.
Just want coach O to stay on him throughout and see what happens at the end. No doubt he will.
Mullen is gonna be hard to take from us. It could happen but its gonna take a lot. Also think he won't wait past summer to commit. We'll still have to fight all year to hold on to him.

Well... this is empirically false.

Yep. Ultimately I'd be more than happy with Caleb Roddy, Willie Baker, and Briston Guidry (who I really believe should play DE). If we get any more, icing on cake.

I don't think O would settle for that. they better blow up.

I love all these guys as DE prospects. Get Oliver, Alexander, Lawrence, and Logan, and that will be a top notch DL haul IMO.
