Top recruits scared to compete against Franks?

When I heard of Narcisse's decision to attend Auburn, my first thought was that he knows Franks will be ahead of him. Then earlier this morning on dandydon.com he was quoted as saying
do ya'll think with Dinkleman coming in the class of '18 that we will probably sign a kid along the likes of a Justin McMillan. A recruit with potential that needs time to develop. Thompson from landry-walker seems to fit that bill. Some expert recruiting sites seems to think he has a spot in '17 but, the staff is not ready to take his commitment just yet.

when Narcisse informed the LSU staff of his decision, he specifically mentioned Franks as a reason why he didn’t pick the purple and gold Tigers.

He may have plans to get drafted after his junior year for his future. If he knows Franks is the real deal and he would sit until his senior year, it was a no brainier decision on his part.

LSU is saying Narcisse mentioned Franks being a reason for him choosing Auburn. But, its not like Franks hasnt been committed for quite a while here.
Im starting to wonder why Cam Cameron makes all this money?

Maybe he waited until he could watch Franks in person during this past weekend's camp to see how good he actually is. Maybe Franks even impressed him to the point that decided to compete elsewhere.

Remember when we were worried he would go play baseball? That seems out the window now thankfully.

He made the decision he thought we be best for him. Time to move on.

Narcisse doesn't have the tools to succeed here. His tools are perfect for Auburns high school scheme where he will use his legs more than his arm. He made the right college decision not the one that will prepare him for the NFL.
There is a reason all these GMs hate the QBs the spread teams produce. Its because that offensive system actually regresses there growth as a QB.
On top of that, being scared to compete ... Louisiana definitely isn't the place for him. He couldn't handle the fan pressure from the home state.

When was the last time a QB recruit was scared of the competition at LSU?

You see the trouble Harris has unseating AJ who has a one year head start. It would be impossible for LN to unseat Franks, if Franks is as good as we think, even if LN was slightly better.

Auburn probably makes a lot of sense for a kid like him
Better match scheme wise, and probably a better Debth chart outlook.
Competition is great but once you lose it you either sit out or transfer and sit a year.

Some of these threads are so stupid....a kid having no chest to compete? Really? If some of yall were in these kids shoes you'd make the same choice as them. They do what's best for them...hate to tell you Idc if I'm the greatest QB to ever play football I'm not gonna go sit the bench till my senior year when if he's any good could go to auburn (who fits his play style a lot better than LSU) an maybe be in the NFL in 3 years. Now I've seen him play in person an didnt think he was all he was cracked up to be anyways....just seemed like an athlete playing QB so doesn't hurt my feelings he chose else where. I think our QB troubles will be over this coming year and think Franks will definetly help us start pulling in great QBs in the future. You just have these kids who have seen freshmen QBs step on the scene an dominate so now every incoming freshmen thinks they can just step right in and play at the level an that's not reality. So let these kids go else where if they'd like...LSU will keep trucking like we always do. This is this new coaching staffs first year and look what they've done already....can't wait to see the future of LSU. It's a great time to be an LSU tiger!

Mr. No chest

Kid made the best decision for him. Can't fault him for that and he didn't appear to jerk LSU around.
I want kids that want to play for LSU. Unfortunately, this kid didn't, but LSU will keep moving forward without him.

These threads always are entertaining.
No matter what school someone doesn't choose, and that said recruit is coveted by some of the fan base, there is something wrong with the person.
Maybe some of you don't have the chest to follow recruiting.
I would like the kid in BR too, but we'll see him a couple of times there.
