OK, Cam Robinson went to Bama; that was his choice and good luck if he remains firm. We really should not get all bent out of shape over recruiting. Miles is an excellent recruiter, and LSU will continue to have good classes. As most of you know, most of the recruiting gurus really have no idea how good a kid can be in college. In fact, think of some of the kids we have recruited that we not rated that high, but their rating instantly jumped as soon as they were connected with LSU. Our running backs have been phenomenol over the last few years, but none of them were five star recruits. How many of the eleven LSU players that opted for the NFL early were five star players? Relax and let things play out; it will all be fine. With the addition of Cameron, all of the pieces are in place for LSU to continue its run as one of the best programs in college football. Let's focus on LSU.

I agree with the OP

and I would like to thank Cam Robinson for getting this done and out of the way. If you know, why play games? So Amen!

Probably the biggest target we have lost without a lot of heavy hearts.. Timing is everything...

Thank you Cam, you handled this with class, best of luck young man

I think it had more to do with Shows making him do it.

If we keep winning and the offense looks great, anything can happen with all these recruits

I can't agree with this sorry. He would never have said, "Roll Damn Tide". He would have picked up that hat(assuming that is what he did) and just said, I am going to Alabama. Saying what he said was just a slap in LSU fans and coaches faces, IMO of course.

Good post! One player not coming to LSU will make or brake it's program. The coaches will find a suitable replacement for CR. I like all these positive waves being stated.

Wasn't Sentreal Henderson the best OL in the last 10 years? Last I heard he plays for da U, but he was at USC and then left there. Also, look at the guy from Washington that committed to USC. He was a can't miss guy too. He hasn't played yet to my knowledge. His dad played at UW and also in the NFL. Can't think of his name off the top of my head. These guys are hit or miss. Bama had a guy a few years back, Tyler Love, who never did shite. He was the #1 OT as well.

I would take the chances with the number one OL whether it was a hit or miss all day.

Good work by the OP. That being said, this kid was going to attention seek and troll us until next July, if possible. He Knew better than look like a douche to Shows. Shows called him out and Cam buckled under the pressure of the "class" thing to do. Wouldn't have surprised me if he had moved an all star game decision to NSD. He idolizes influences such as Guice & King. Although we recruited him since the 8th grade, Saban put boots on the ground in N. La and pissed on our parade. He made the right, and albeit sleazy, connections. Explaining recruits decisions is as tangible as explaining the infinity of space. "Grew up and lsu fan"? SMDH. Bama is the hot chick in school. We have current players playing in a current season. CR won't have any influence on the rest of our schedule. We have pulled some beef too. Pocic, Boutte, Clapp, Brumfield. Yes, it sux to lose a potentially dynamic "road grater " to our hated rival. Our more pressing need is to fortify out LB, WR and secondary depth. Oh yeah, we could use a stud running back from ST AUG. To be the man, ya gotta beat the man. We need to win hearts & minds by doing it on the field. It will be done in 2013- without Cameron Robinson. ROLL MF TIGERS !

No one is saying not to take the chance. We're saying we didn't get to take the chance and not to frickin whine and cry about it. We're going to sign an alternative and it's not outside the realm of possibility that said alternative would work out very well for us.

We don't need 'perspective' posts. Everyone who follows recruiting understands that this commitment was coming. There was no surprise. Cam's decision is not as big a deal as people who don't follow recruiting seem to think. We know we're great and we know we've got excellent OL personnel and just as good coming in; if Cam is 10% better than them it's not going to make a huge deal of difference.

This was not a surprise and it's not a failure on the part of the staff and we don't need to be blabbing on about it.

Really, I guess you don't remember that he originally was set to announce his verbal the Friday before our big opening game before someone got a hold of him and said not to do it that way.

The good thing to come out of it was we can now focus our attention on other kids. But the downside is unfortunately you don't think CRob & Sims will be trying to help Bama continue to recruit in our state.
