I know most people have never heard of him. He is an undersized DE at 5'11" and 225lbs (listed) but he is around 235 - 240lbs. He runs a high 4.5sec 40, but he has the instincts of a football player. He still has some growing to do. Will be a LB in college.

Went to Ole Miss and Bama camps and had impressive camps.

He has 17 sacks throughout 7 games, 24 tackles for a loss going over 165 yards for a loss. He was moved to fullback in the 3rd or 4th game of the season and has 4 carries for 3TD's and one catch for a touchdown. He is an extremely humble young man.

The kid is an athlete. Here are some of his highlights ~> HUDL

If he runs a 4.5 why the hell does he play full back?

He isn't my son. He is a friend of mine's son. I am just a huge fan of him as a young man.

There are some schools that have talked to him. Coach Saban had a talk with him before leaving the camp. Well on his way to being All State as a junior. Was 2-5A All district as a sophomore.

He has played LB and DE his entire career. He was asked to play DE when Isaiah Buggs (Pooh Bear) and Jekevin graduated the same year. Because of some injuries, he was asked to play fullback to take a little pressure off of the RB. He loves defense, but does whatever is asked him. He is very unselfish. They say 16 sacks but we have counted 17, but regardless he will break the Ruston High sack record which is 16 for one year.

I envision him being 1st team All Conference USA at Louisiana Tech. That's not a bad thing.

It's definitely not a bad thing.. Love Tech! Went to college there. His dad was a starter at NLU (ULM). His dad played back when Ruston was Ruston Universtiy and they were ranked #1 in the nation.

I taught him last year and speak with him daily. I really enjoy being around him. So humble, nice and respectful. His future is bright, he has that rare IT factor. His dad was also a beast on the DL, and is a great guy as well. His only knock I guess is his height, but I've never seen it be a disadvantage for him with his superior instincts and quickness

Chick Childress was THE MAN. That program went downhill with Gilliam. They certainly still had the talent to remain a dynasty. The man couldn't even win a playoff game with two future NFL corners and quarterback, and that's not even close to all of the talent he had.

I just watched his film vs. Neville, one of the best teams in the state, and this kid was tearing them up...if he's a true 4.5, he's a serious prospect...Sam Mills comes to mind when thinking of short dominant LBs...

His dad and me talk often.. After every game we talk about what he did right. Tahj is always wanting to be better. The way he respects others will take him far. Always "yes sir and no sir".

I talked to him before the season and told he had to be the vocal leader, because he is the anchor of that fast Ruston Defense. The program has really gone down hill, but this years team is exciting to watch with Outley at QB.

Sounds like he has a good build to play ILB, but the speed to blitz from the middle, too. Does he have interest in LSU? Is LSU in touch with him?

I like him as an ILB. He should petition the coaches to let him get a few snaps there. That's where he will be best at the next level.

You can see he has good fundamentals already and should start working on coverage assignments in his spare time. Going to some 7 on 7 camps could help him there. I could see LSU offering him.

This kid is a player. Very strong at the point of attack, presses and throws blockers. Size-wise I don't know if he's SEC caliber and he is not a 4.5 guy. He's a high 4.6- low 4.7 range but he plays with great effort and leverage.

ETA: With Aranda at DC he may have a chance as a late add as an edge player and get a chance to develop. Seems like he's gonna have a great collegiate career wherever he goes.

Only a handful of Lb's are in the 4.5ish range period. So this kid being 4.6ish,4.7ish range means nothing.. Beckwith is not even a 4.6 guy but he is a great inside linebacker. If this kid can hit, has the intangibles and the want to play mlb then he should get a look.. Prime example Navarro Bowman all-pro 4.79 speed doesn't look slow when you watch tape.

At Ole Miss this summer he ran high 4.5. At the combine in Ruston he ran 4.6+. If he does get to 6' or 6'1", a school would be crazy not to at least look into what he can provide for their program. He should have 20 sacks at the end of the season. I think he was ranked #1 or #2 on them team in tackles.

Here he is at the Alabama camp~> 2016 Alabama Camp
