I live in Ft. Worth now, and was invited to a TCU luncheon today. At the luncheon, Coach Patterson spoke and talked a bit about recruiting. He was pumped about a brand new recruit. His statement was that they just got a commit from a top player, but they want to keep it under wraps (implicitly to avoid the fallout from another team finding out), but that the player is a guy who will be there in the spring (early enrollment candidate?).

Given Sullivan's recent visit to TCU, and judging by Patterson's excitment over a very recent surprise addition, could this be Sullivan silently flipping? Is he an EE candidate?

Anyway, just a thought that crossed my mind. I don't follow TCU recruiting so I don't know who else fits that bill for them. Never like to watch LSU get blindsided late in the process.

I don't have any insider info but based on what I've read in other threads on this board it wouldn't shock me. I hope it's not true, but rumors have been swirling.

At least it's at a position of depth if it is true.

I hope it's not the case. But if so, the fact their strategy is to keep it silent and that Coach P was so giddy about this sneaky recruiting ploy, rubs me the wrong way. Man up and tell the prior school you are moving on, so each side can move on.

Would be devastating considering our lack of depth and talent at that position along with Louisiana rarely producing quality receivers. I thought the two Omaha losses hurt, but this is much worse.

Would hate to lose a kid like him. He's going to be very good. You can't teach 6'6"

True, and I think we hold onto him.

TCU has had 3 WRs drafted the past 10 years. LSU has had 12. I'm sure he's a great player but this is his opportunity not ours IMO

I was looking for less of a discussion on Sullivan's merits as a player and impact on the program and more so on the impact of having a recruit potentially reserve an otherwise valuable spot in this class when they have no intention of being there at the end. It's not always easy to plug in 4 star players in the days leading up to signing day, although I realize LSU has done it before.

We signed the consensus #1 WRs in the country in back to back years with Anthony Jennings as the projected starter and only one scholarship QB behind him. Everyone please take a deep breath, LSU is going to be OK.

LSU has a bunch of receivers to give last minute offers out to, like Coxie. He's not going to hold a spot that goes to waste, tell me the last time that happened. Gage and Moreau were signing day additions the last two years. It sucks to lose Sullivan if he goes, but if it's at a deep position and to a non rival, it's not a huge deal.

TCU? Freaking Texas Christian? LSU has not fallen that far to be losing in state talent to that school?

TCU has enough juice right now to pull a WR. What's surprising is that it's Sullivan. He's been committed for so long

OP, TCU has been in on a lot of top players for 2016 and 2017. For example, to show you how much things have changed, in the latest 247sports team ratings, TCU is #16 for 2016 and #7 for 2017.

So it could be Sullivan as he clearly has an interest in TCU but it could just as easily be a number of other top players. TCU has been doing a lot of recruiting events and camps lately so there is really no telling exactly who it is.

To be fair, Sullivan has family in the Ft. Worth area IIRC.
