Wow. Getting Harris & Chaisson would definitely be epic.

Just need Wilson, Moses, Allen and Buggs to close out this dream wishlist.

Miles is making a run for it like never before. There are great times ahead for lsu football! The potential is there and honestly, we have yet to reach it. Potential dynasty just waiting.

Does seem like he's starting to get all the right pieces together. Time will tell what he'll do with them once in place, though.

I agree, Miles has typically had yearly dips in recruiting every now and then but...

Class rankings (according to 24/7 composite)
05- #13
06- #9
07- #5
08- #12
09- #1
10- #8
11- #8
12- #14
13- #6
14- #2
15- #6
16- #3
17- #3 (Current)

I'm not going to pretend to be a football recruiting expert but the talent Les Miles is bringing in the past 4 years as well as 2017 along with Cameron/Aranda and there shouldn't be any major dips like in '08, '12, '14 etc...

It's so strange to me that you would see the dips in class rank IMMEDIATLEY following an appearance in the Nat'l Champ Game in both cases. What's up with that???

Louisiana is weird. I'm going to call it coincidence that the state just happened to be down during those years and thus a lower national ranking. That's just an uneducated guess though.

Less time to focus on recruiting due to Nat'l Champ Game prep is one reason.

I considered that, but we're always in a bowl game regardless. While there may be minimally less time due to that reason, I would assume the publicity and prestige of playing in THE game would more than outweigh that issue.

Cause we don't recruit guys strictly based on the number assigned to them by recruiting "news" sites. Just a coincidence.

I used to believe this, too, but it's wrong. Les has a penchant for complacency. It showed in those two years and it has shown in how he's made staff changes- only when his back is against the wall.
The school two states east proves over and over again that playing in NC's doesn't mean less time to recruit means lower rated classes.

Coaches could have been focusing a lot more on the season and not as much as usual on recruiting. Just a guess though.
