Everyone is delusional if you think Shea is better than Franks. Franks is more athletic, has a stronger more accurate arm, his height gives him excellent vision of the field, and he is by far a great leader. You take all the tangibles and intangibles of Felipe' Franks and the fact that Cam will be grooming him, he will be one of the best QB's to ever play at LSU. I think Patterson will be good and successful. But he won't be Elite at Ole Miss. Patterson would have a chance if the tables were turned and he was going to LSU and Franks was going somewhere else. Fact of the matter is, Harris and Jenning will both be surprisingly better this season than they were last season. Just like what we ha with Mett, Elite WR crew and Elite OL, FB and RB. Plus this year on top of having Harris with the awesome commanding play, Elite WR's, TE's, OL, RB, FB, we will also have a much improved Defense which is what we were missing. Look at the Georgia game. We had like 40 points, but still lost. This year we will have an offense that can score 35-55 points per game with a Defense that won't allow more than 13-20 points per game. This D will also have a lot more takeaways, sacks, and TFL(Tackles for Loss). The takeaways will be stripped balls from the QB, RB's, and WR's. We will also have a resurgence of the Special Teams. We will also have more interceptions. This team will be a huge surprise, and that's good.

I haven't even thought about Shea until someone just put this topic up... Shea who is what I say...

The guy will excel at Ole Miss because

1) he already runs a similar spread passing attack

2) They are loaded at WR and keep getting more

3) the system at Ole Miss is point and shoot

4) he's a mobile and accurate QB

He's not some great NFL prospect, but he'll probably break all of the passing records at Ole Miss because of the reasons above. I think he is way overrated at 4th overall in the composite.

On another note, Franks has moved up to 34 overall in th composite.

I can agree with a lot of what you said but the overriding factor for me is that he seems to be a bit of a head case. May not be an issue for him but teams don't like to play with a drama queen.

I do wonder, and definitely do not know either way, if it's the father (or parents) that are the head case and the perception bleeds to him. He may be a prima donna of sorts (me personally, I like QB's to have a little of that) but head case MAY be the wrong term. Time well tell... or Ole Miss will do a good job of hiding it.

Maybe not in the same class but Cam did get the 2 QB's that he wanted, Franks and transfer Danny Etling. I believe he threw for over 1,500 yards at Purdue this past season. I read somewhere that Etling's family are close with Coach Cam, and also he is a pocket passer.

I am sure Franks is good but he will have competition at the position.
