I'm not one of the normal Miles' critics......but I can guarantee you, if Team wasn't posting here, they'd be everywhere in this thread downing the poor kid because he had no stars and offers from Tulane and Memphis.

Prom, it just makes him more motivated and believe me he has all the motivation he needs. we have seen the best and worst of fans on here and ronald had a number of chances to change schools and believe it or not, high schools still are calling asking him to transfer, and he has always been told that stars mean nothing once you are on the field, he was challenged at the first camp by the tiger coaching staff, and invited back for this camp, he took on the challenge and excelled and as i told him he had to dominate. he did so, got the offer and is the happiest kid in the world, we know his selection will not please everyone but in the end everyone will be pleased. book it

FTR, I'm not complaining. I never do considering I'm not at camps.
The point of my posts was that I, along with JJ27, is surprised that the normal bash-a-kid posters weren't posting in this thread. Probably because you guys were posting in it. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. Congrats on the offer!

Has anyone seen any Simmons comments on Ronald? I like reading his evaluations, I think he is a pretty good scout for Rivals for the most part, IMO.

congrats to ronald and his family...hearing stories like this about kids who work hard to get their dream offer and jump on it ASAP is one of the reasons I enjoy following recruiting

i understand prom what you are saying. i choose to think that the posters have come to realize that its not always about stars, ala, mo claiborne, and a kid from la. will put that more effort in everything they do. i for one wished we signed all la. kids this particular year but thats just me, lol.

I could be wrong but I think Armand Williams was another that people were surprisingly excited about around here considering the stars.
Hopefully people are starting to understand the depth of talent in this state and the ability of this coaching staff to judge talent (new coaches like Gonzales, Wilson, Cooper, Chavis, Haley).

From what I have read about this kid, I think he is solid and will contribute.
However in general, if LSU is gonna take chances on kids (I don't see this guy as a reach)I would like to see them take chances on Louisiana kids, rather than out of staters.

On film, he looks good but it's just so hard to really get an authoritative read on him because he's mainly playing qb and he's playing such bad competition.
I think he's a good take though. A raw athlete with size you can't teach who tests really well. He's the type of player that is hard to give a really high rating to but would not surprise me if he became a stud.
Also, I think it's a good take as long as he didn't take Floyd Raven's spot. I think Raven is a superstar.

No shite Prom. It was their enthusiasm and what they said about the young man's excitement that was so contagious. You could tell that it was a dream come true for all of them.
In the case of Blackmon....LSU simply represented his only decent offer as far as anyone on here could tell.
