Welcome aboard Ronald Martin!

Wonder what rivals will see him as after this camp performance and now having tape on him.

Incredible athlete...1400 passing, 1100 rushing at QB while picking up 9 INTs on defense (14 the year before), not to mention averaged >20 ppg in basketball.

from louisiana sportsline football talk...

quote:

3.)Ronald Martin (White castle, Sr.)
Even though this kid will play DB in college, I think he will be one of the biggest playmakers at the Class 1A level as a dual-threat quarterback this season for the bulldogs. At, 6-3, 180, and a 4.4 forty, Martin has good size for a high school QB. Last year, as a junior, he passed for more than 1,400 yards and ran for more than 1,000 yards, with more than 20 total touchdowns. He could have easily been all-state in my opinion. Martin is an exceptional athlete who is very versatile.
Against East Iberville, Martin racked up 189 yards passing, 118 yards rushing, including two touchdown passes and two (two-point) conversions. In the first round of the 1A playoffs, Martin ran for 149 yards on 17 option-keepers and a touchdown. He also threw for two more touchdowns. Martin also showed that he could put up the same type of numbers against stiffer competition. In the playoffs against eventual state champions,, Haynesville, he ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns, passed for another 200 yards and three touchdowns, and caught a touchdown pass.
Martin is an athlete. He made All-Metro and All-State Teams in both football(honorable mention) and basketball(second team). He also was a key sprinter and jumper in the Bulldogs track team.
On defense, Martin played defensive back and had 8 interceptions, more than 40 tackles, two forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries. As a sophomore, he recorded 12 interceptions in an only an eight game Hurricane Ike shortened season.
One scout was quoted as saying that” It is safe to say that Ronald Martin may be one of the top athletes in the country and he could probably play all four sports in college” WOW!

this..i know first hand that his recruitment was really starting to heat up, he had offers from every state school including memphis and tulsa and was getting heavy intrest from okie state and nebraska..okie state was also on him for basketball so he's no scrub basketball player either fwiw
