Ferguson committed to Tennessee, but left their program and is currently the top juco QB according to 247. The 3 schools listed are inferior to LSU IMO in Temple, Arizona State, and Iowa State. Seems like a good prospect for LSU to concentrate on after losing Franks.

From an outsider perspective, I don't see how this would be an upgrade but Ferguson couldn't be much worse.

He looks good in his highlights and Chad Kelly did work out greatly for Ole Miss and Baker Mayfield (walk on at Texas Tech transfered to Oklahoma) worked out great for Oklahoma.

We need to go after him hard.

Harris did just start playing football a few years ago. I think he is a slow learner. The game will slow down next year. But I agree lets go get this guy

We recruited Ferguson in high school, I wanted him then. He led Juco in passing yards last year. Im not sure what that will equate to in the ncaa but he shows hes at least more accurate then our current qb. I don't give a shite if our qb is thorwing cream puffs it he is hitting our recievers consistently on short routes.

JUCO QBs are rarely the saviors people make them out to be.

Generally speaking the best JUCO QBs are simply the ones who got kicked out of their previous school.

See:
Cam Newton
Zach Mettenberger
Chad Kelly
Nick Marshall

You know that A&M QB who finished the game against us? Jake Hubenak?

He had 47 TDs and over 4000 yards passing in JUCO last year.

Agreed. Plus you can't build depth. You still don't have 2016 commit.

Well Ferguson would be a 2016 commit, just would only have 2 years to play 2.

We need to go after Ferguson for next year and possibly pick up Patrick Towles as a transfer (I've come around to this idea). Ferguson should have 2 years and we offered him as a recruit out of high school anyway.

We'll likely have senior Dural, junior Dupre, sophomore Johnson, senior Smith, junior Fournette, and sophomore Guice with 3 on OL. That's plenty of experienced talent similar to what Mett had in 2013, although I don't know how far the WRs will improve like Beckham and Landry did.

At worst they give Harris more competition for the starting job. Throw in Danny Etling the transfer from Purdue, and along with Jennings you have 5 college game experienced QBs vying for the position. Now all these guys have had problems, but we need an all out battle in the offseason.

Maybe we should send our freshman QBs to JUCO for a year so they can get some experience and coaching

If we get Patrick towles we are even worse off than I thought at quarterback. There is a reason Kentucky fans are happy he is gone.
