How does it feel to make your decision today?

It feels good. It feels good to get it over with, maybe now my life can get back to normal like it was before all this drama began. It's good to be a Tiger. LSU is the place I felt most comfortable going into today. So I rolled with that and hopefully I made the right decision.

Can you tell us what it's been like for the past week in terms of phone calls, coaches and the pressure you've had on your shoulders?

It's been tough you know. It was a tough decision determining which college was best for me. I talked it over last night with my DAD. The whole thing came down to where I would feel most comfortable and what was the best situation for me and that's why I chose LSU.

What did DeAngelo Benton's decision have to do with you going to LSU?

It had a significant impact because I felt like me and DLO shouldn't go to LSU at the same time because 1 of us wouldn't see significant playing time. So I felt like if one of us went there, the other should go somewhere else so we could both be on the field as much as possible.

How excited are you to be a Tiger and go and play in Death Valley in front of those crowds?

I'm real excited because that's something you look forward to with the atmosphere at LSU. You want to do the best you can and make the best impact for your team. I just love the game of football.

If we have focus and commit to being 1 as a team there is no limit to what we can do because you know there's a lot of talent this year and I believe you know that if we go on and do what we gotta do we can make a run at a national championship.

So Les tells parents that he wants to give their child an opportunity to play for LSU and get a great education, but he only means it if they get in right away? Benton could be lazy, or Benton could have learning problems. I'm not defending him for not qualifying, but the guy had an offer for two years only to have it yanked because of pressure.

Les has to do what he feels is best for the program.

It's not like Benton didn't have the chance to sign anywhere else. He gets a college education . . . at Auburn.

Exactly, he had an offer to one of the best programs in the country, and he already had 2 shots to get his act together. Who says he would not have failed out, or been another Perriloux situation. Also, who said that Les pulled the scholly? Maybe Benton didn't want the competition and thought it was best for him to move on. He is what 20 years old now, so odds are he wants to play NOW. He can go to Auburn, play for 1 year and become draft eligible, so maybe Benton decided this on his own.

Les did, in this evening's press conference, when asked if Benton had a scholarship offer this morning, Les said "no"
