I don't know, but if you are on that same side that he is. He's definitely fricking up.

LSU coaches apparently have begged Reed to visit EVEN after he has committed to AU and said he is 100% solid. In fact apparently LSU coaches have begged to the point of Reed publicly saying, "They have to respect my commitment" because obviously they were not.
I dont see this as a negative. I see this as our coaching staff doing their job aggressively and not taking NO for an answer.

Some have said that we may appear desperate. I say it doesnt matter. I'd be pissed if our coaches weren't doing all they could to get a talent like Reed.

I agree. You want your coaches fighting until the end as long as it does not compromise recruiting of other players (time, resources, etc).

My arguement is that no one is at fault, everyone is acting in their own best interest, and all this critical stuff is unwarranted.

damn does noone else think it's possible that he's so pro auburn with his recent quotes because it's an auburn site doing the article and that's where he is committed?

yal need to calm down about this guy and let it play out. i think it's dumb to act as if he isn't even giving lsu a chance when he's taking his last official visit here. i know if we had a guy from montgomery committed who takes a courtesy official on the last weekend of the year to auburn i'm sweating that thing out til the end, regardless of what he's saying on record.

i believe he really wants to be at both places. not predicting a switch necessarily but he definitely wants to give us every chance to make a last impression.

so committed players shouldnt visit? Ambles?? Smitch?? Boone?? Fobb? it's just part of recruiting.

I'm not saying that. These guys are committed but "soft" verbals. They've declared that they are still at least open to the idea of looking at other schools.
I understand these guys are choosing a college just like many of us had to do. If I was going to Harvard or Duke, etc, I wouldn't go out of my way to publicly spite my roots and the school that is dear to most of my friends, family, and home state.
If he has no plans to come here, though, thats what he's doing, IMO.
Those interviews are with the Auburn rivals crew, though, so he might just be trying to keep them cool about it.

Just because I don't like seeing the state's top player leave, I hope he changes his mind. However, I still don't think it is as crucial as other years because he is not a "can't" miss prospect! JMHO!

i would like to see him switch to LSU just for the fact that the AU fans think otherwise. Like they are in his brain and know his every thought

Also, I might add that Gonzo talks to him and can tell him that if he came to LSU it would be easier for his friends and family that might not otherwise be able to see him play actually be able to see him play. Less expensive for them to see him in person and not have to travel to see him. To me that is the one big sale that is left here and this is where some of these Seniors can help out also here to let him know just how much of a big difference this does make.

It's SIMPLE! Reed is the #1 prospect this year in the State of Louisiana. You never want your #1 going to a rival SEC school. Does LSU need him? IMO, no. I think he's right when he says he's a better fit for AU. He won't see near the time at least yet that he will at AU. We have and will mostly use BIG physical W/R's. IMO it's more of keeping him FROM another SEC west school and using him when needed. He see's this. Good luck to him. This is nothing more than fighting for our #1 prospect.

You'll have to forgive all of us. We don't respect anything "Auburn"

Just figure I'd bump this thread to say that Trovon Reed has been upgraded to a five star on Scout.

Might just chime in here and say that I don't think he switches. Seems like a great kid and one I'd like to have at LSU.

Are you being serious and conceding that he switches Ross or just being facetious?

I go back and forth so often I have no idea what to think. I do think that we can sway him with a great visit no matter what he has been saying (or what the Auburn sites have been reporting that he's been saying).

So your plan is to build a team around him?

I was being facetious.

I believe Reed is sold on Auburn, but is checking out his in state school one more time just to take the visit and see what they offer him again. He could possibly be swayed, but I doubt it. Either way, I wouldn't fault the kid if he wanted to stay closer to home.
