Thibodaux High School quarterback Trovon Reed, a wide receiver prospect who was one of McCarthy’s assignments, committed to Auburn last month. Based on reports coming out of Thibodaux and from other places, LSU coaches aren’t getting a good read that they have a chance to get back in the hunt for him.
If he’s being coy to gauge their interest, someone needs to make an overture, because it seems apparent the LSU staff isn’t going to spend a lot of time chasing Reed if he’s not showing any signs of wavering from his commitment to SEC West rival Auburn.

Reed is a Tiger, a Thibodaux Tiger, and LSU coaches seem convinced he wants to be an Auburn Tiger, not an LSU Tiger.

I would hope LSU would move off of these guys. Find some kids that want to play for LSU.

I love how these kids egos are so big they think they will make or break a program. LSU shows these kids love but its like they want to be the center of attention. LSU has a delicate balance to try and please all of the recruits, so some will feel like they are getting snubbed because someone else is getting a little attention.

Just like JMcknight, he thought he would make or break LSU and went to USC to win NC and Heisman. Didn't turn out quite like he expected. These kids should really learn to use their heads instead of their emotion when it comes to this kind of decision. They may get a little different treatment from these schools while being recruited, but when they sign on the line they turn into another kid on the team.

Not only that, while at LSU this kid would have been treated like a local celebrity, out of state he better perform or he will get little love.

If I were an LSU fan I would say oh well, screw him if he doesn't want to wear Purple & Gold. We can find other talented WR's for Les Miles to squander their talent.

You honestly don't think that Les Miles gets less with his players than he should? LSU gets the best players in the country and Les Miles doesn't get shite done. I know a lot of LSU fans would agree.

This is true as well, LSU always has big physical recievers. There is no room for small guys in an offense that isn't considered a "gimmick". Holliday is the only small guy I can think of and he wasn't exactly an every down WR.

Why is an Auburn fan on this board flaming away? GTHO We have enough losers on this board to go around. Don't need you to add to the stupidity.

I wasn't flaming one bit, I was agreeing with an LSU poster who thought they should move on. I think LSU has loads of talent already and will only continue to add to that.

On his official visit to LSU (LSU vs AU), he made a comment/motion towards Auburn in front of the LSU coaches that will not be forgotten.
