The only concern is the worst class in his tenure will be seniors/RS juniors this season.
You're saying that the 2012 class is Miles' worst class based on recruiting rankings alone. However, we have already gotten Jeremy Hill, Vadal Alexander, Jerald Hawkins, Danielle Hunter,Jalen Mills, and Kwon Alexander from that class. This shows that the class was underrated and Miles and company knew what they were doing when evaluating these guys.

I got them from 247.
While I agree recruiting rankings don't necessarily equate to exact football rankings on the field, there is no denying that recruiting rankings make a difference. Alabama and FSU have been dominant lately and they also happened to put together multiple top 5 classes in a row.
And yes the 09 class produced elite talent. It was also the #1 class in the country.
And lastly I didn't say they would be the best group of players. I said we are recruiting the best we have in the Miles Era and on paper, we are. And history has shown that typically teams that recruit in the top five are also elite teams on the field.

I wouldn't consider talent drain to the NFL as much of an excuse as much as it is an explanation.
But to answer your question, yes LSU has plenty of talent to contend.

He said on paper not actual results

The Miles Narrative has already been written and sent to the printers. Imagine the shock if Les were able to shut some people up with some more hardware with all this young talent. Time to flip the script and get some retribution against all those people that have already buried the program.

That would be awesome and it is very attainable, but lets be honest the "shutting up of people" that Les needs to do and could have done at any time in his tenure is done by simply getting productive QB play. Miles has recruited as good as any coach in the country since he's been here but has detractors and somewhat failed simply because he hasn't had a quarterback for whatever the reason, that is the only reason we aren't where everyone wants to be. It's an easier fix than needing to get top knotch talent throughout.

When you say we are recruiting the best that we've ever recruited, you are implying that the group of players we're bringing in is the best. Is that not the point of recruiting? The factor that determines how well you are recruiting is whether or not you get results from each player, not what his star-rating was on paper. That is why I reserve judgment until after a class has played 3 years at LSU instead of buying into all the recruiting hype before the class even sees the field.

The issues surrounding the lack of quarterback development doesn't necessarily fall on ability to develop quarterbacks himself personally. That's not where his background in coaching comes from. He's not a Briles, Sumlin, Malzahn, Petrino or any of the other head coaches who came up as offensive coordinators/quarterback coaches. It's why having a legit quarterback coach on staff is of the utmost importance. I have no issues with criticism of his hires at that position up until now with Cam Cameron.
I know there is a lot of doubt out there concerning Cam's ability but there shouldn't be any. Both Mett & Jennings fell into Cam's lap once he hired on here. It worked out well with Mett, not so much with Jennings as of yet though but it isn't from Cam not trying. Despite Jennings high recruiting ranking & Elite 11 participation, I'm not sure if Cam was on the staff back then, that Jennings would have been someone he would have targeted heavily. Now he did come in & help seal the deal with Harris who seems to be more of his type. The book is still open but I believe this story at quarterback eventually ends well.

Was Krag's not a good hire? Or is Miles an idiot for not being able to per-diagnose debilitating diseases?

Are you serious? How in the hell would I hold that against him? What I hold against him is holding on to Crowton too long & allowing Stud to call the offense in 2012. Sorry I wasn't more clear enough for you in my original post.
