If Im a LB recruit today I have two trains of thought. I should be able to come in and play right away. However would I? It looks like there is favoritism going on.

If Im a QB recruit I look back at the whole JJ, JLee fiasco and think the same way. Coaches are hurting themselves there.

I don't think this is an issue because I doubt there are many recruits considering LSU who are unobjective rantards that don't know much about the sport...

Fine with me.

You want a "wild west" board where you can call Les Miles an idiot without consequence or do you want to land recruits? Because the reality is the paradigm has shifted from even 5 years ago. Message boards are no longer tucked under the bowels of the internet. They are at the forefront where everyone, include recruits and their parents, can read. Add Twitter to that, and we're in an era where fans have more access to recruits/athletes than ever before.

Before this recruits could be insulated from negative fans, but that buffer is now gone. Maybe it's OUR responsibility to police ourselves, not the recruit's responsibility to just shake it off. These are still kids were talking about here. The ones that don't let it bother them are remarkable, but I can't blame the ones that read some of the vile stuff on here and have some degree of reservation about our LSU.

And I'll tell you another thing that hurts us; there are very few fan bases that are constantly crying about winning 10 games a year. I could probably count the schools on 3 fingers. It's very easy to look at our fanbase and call us spoiled as a whole, because we are.

Which happens with every team and it's fans but to talk negatively about a recruit before he even gets here is ridiculous. And it happens I promise you. Read this board more often and you'll see!

Maybe.

But, I doubt it. What people are willing to post on a message board is different than what they are willing to say when they can be identified.

Honestly, this board is by far the biggest problem with respect to that.

In home with Hootie. Would guess CRob and Sims too. Why waste the flight; he's only allowed 1 per.

What I want to know is what HS's he visits, which staffs. THAT's the school CLM/CFW need to target; fight fire with fire and get the staff on LSU's side.

There are threads on this board where a LA recruit that committed to LSU is bashed? Really?

Most LSU fans understand that recruits are affected by the negative bullshite that goes on here .

They also are respectful to recruits and their families.

What we are seeing here is a sports site that even though they are getting stricter still has negative fans and fans looking to hurt the program fall through the cracks.

I hope all recruits that read this understand that real LSU fans feel these commit are like family members and would never try to hurt them.....

I would just look at the schools where there have been recent LSU/Bama battles such as Bastrop, Rayville, etc.

One thing I do not understand is:

If TD.com is hurting LSU recruiting so bad as some of you believe.. How in god's name is Ricky Jefferson currently on LSU's roster?

We're not saying this site is the downfall for LSU recruiting but if it (the negativity) does affect just one recruit enough to sway him then that is one too many!

Les playing his brother for as much as he has been may have been the equalizer.

But it doesnt make sense.. No player has been dragged through the mud on this site more than Jordan Jefferson. Yet his brother comes here. Hell I even know that a couple of his HS coaches are Bama fans too..

If we can get a commit from RJ then maybe these recruits that are sensitive to it are better off elsewhere to begin with.

it's hard to say how much it is hurting, if any, at the end of the day the staff usually puts together a great class. However, it does add to the "noise" that the staff has to deal with, which just makes their job a little tougher. It also gives rival coaches more ammo to negatively recruit. If you're a fan of the program, why would you want your words/actions to benefit your opponents and cause more work for your team?

Close the board like Auburn and Bama or you will get negative comments from outside fans

LSU fans have garnered the reputation of being quick to turn on you

I dont understand why this is a bad thing. Yes, if you are a quality player we want you in P&G, but as soon as you go to Bama, Auburn, Texas, A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Southern Cal or Wyoming I hope you do not have success. I dont wish personal harm on you, or that your life sucks, but I do not wish that you have a successful career unless its in P&G. Hoping you have a good career not at LSU and that coming to fruition directly contradicts me wanting LSU to succeed.

Ill also say, that to think that LSU fans are the worst is a little short sighted. There are "those" kinds of fans at every school, they are just exposed to "those" fans at LSU because they live here. Ask Cyrus Kouandjio. He caught shite from Bama fans for committing to Auburn, then caught shite from Auburn fans for signing with Bama. It happens everywhere, its just their way of justifying them leaving the state.

Really? It's typical of portions of fan bases to consistently deride their current, successful coach in favor of a rival coach all day, every day?

Most fan bases almost universally HATE their rival coach. Not ours, they revere him and prop him up as often as they can. Don't fool yourself, this is some unique shite at LSU.

Judging from the overwhelming majority of Tweeter relinks I see posted here, I don't think many recruits can read what's posted here to know what any of us are saying. I think if Les Miles had a different look about him more recruits would come to LSU. Goddamn you Saban and your beautiful flowing locks of chestnut hair! He wins all the young boy's hearts with that and his riske` one-button-too-many-unbuttoned look.
