I know we are dealing with kids here but how do you have a commitment from a top quarterback (franks) for almost 2 years just to watch him go somewhere else in less than 4 months. This kid in july stated on a scale of 1-10 how hard is your commitment he said it is a 15. Knowing how kids are how does our TOP NOTCH COACH (sarcastic voice) put all of his eggs in one basket and not have 2 QB's committed. If he does not somehow pull a rabbit out of his hat this will for sure come back to bite us. Chances are Miles will not survive long enough to find out but we sure will have too live with it. Same thing with the D-Line we are thin because he did not recruit enough d lineman and the ones he did recruit were poorly evaluated from a character stand point.

You can't Blame Miles about the Franks situation he is a Florida kid who saw his home state team in the rise. Brandon Harris was highly ranked in high school as high as Franks and has not panned out.

So is the problem coaching, scheme, or just recruiting the type of QB for our system? Why can other schools develop but we seem too have issues with our QB's

Not sure I follow, but Franks brother is now going to Florida too. I'm sure that played a role.

Go to the Rant where you belong. We know you aren't looking for answers. We know you're shitting on Miles. And whether your point is legit or not, that's not what this board is for.

my thing is....if we are going to run the offense that we have been running lets recruit more QBs like Matt Flynn. Someone who isnt a dual threat but can make the short to intermediate passes with consistency and also makes more than one read.

Our problem has been the type of QB recruit that we have been going after.

Harris has had two years of coaching by Cam Cameron, who has a proven history of being able to develop QBs. Sometimes it isn't a question of a QB being developed as much as a QB developing. Harris may have reached his limit.

His situation may be akin to Shaquille O'Neal and free throws. Shaq worked with countless coaches over the years to improve his free throw shooting. Are those coaches to blame for failing to develop Shaq's free throw shooting, or does Shaq get the blame for failing to develop as a free throw shooter?

I was not sure which board to put this on so I apologize. I am not crapping on miles I was looking for answers from other people point of view. Did not know our coach was not allowed to be criticized.

He screwed LSU over with his demands and then bouncing. Just because he said thanks to the fans and coaches doesn't make what he did right.

The bottom line is , is that a verbal isn't a signed letter of intent. People can say whatever they want to say. Until they sign, it holds little weight.

On a different topic. I hope we get rid of Cam , scoop up Richts. This will give us an in with Eason. In Richt's press conference right now, he said he would love to get back into hands on coaching, be it as a QB coach, an offensive coordinator or whatever.

Anybody that thinks Harris won't be much improved next year doesn't understand football. A year of experience is huge for any player at any position especially QB.

The in-state school told him that if he goes to UF, he has the chance to start as a true freshmen. Franks was not going to replace Harris next year. Opportunity won the day.

I love when people say, if you don't agree with my opinion, you don't know much about football!

There are a ton of examples of players not having major improvements year to year.

In fact, a few QBs at LSU are pretty good examples: JJ and AJ.

So excuse me for not believing that Harris will definitely be much improved next year.

You haven't seen AJ this year so how would you know. JJ got better but never got over the hump. Jamarcus got better, Flynn got better, J Lee got better, Mett got better. Pretty much every LSU QB under Miles has gotten a ton better besides JJ. He's the odd man out not the norm.

Seems like Miles likes a dual threat qb but runs a system for a pocket passer who isnt that great of running (See Mett, Mauk, Flynn) Mett couldnt run, Mauk and Flynn were more mobile but still was a last resort

Sorry, but you don't even believe AJ and JJ got better. Saying so supports your position, but no way you believe that.
