Auburn will catch a lot of flack for not allowing him transfer to another SEC school. A lot of schools do that at first and then ease up on it after weighing things out

Lol, how many times do you hear a kid transferring because he DIDN'T want to get PT. That's just hilarious...

Sounds like he is a smart kid then and knows he isn't ready for SEC play just yet

Funny how things change looking at my post from the other page.
Any ideas where he goes now?

Man our coaches really screwed the pooch on this one, this cat didn't sound like he wanted Auburn at all...just ended up there because of our E.E. situation.
Edit - and why would Auburn push him into a role this year, the kid clearly is too small to play in the SEC year 1. He's 6'7, 273...

Not all of the coaches thought he was that good, which is why he was the one asked not to enroll. If he washes out it worked out pretty well for LSU

Just still blows my mind they asked him to pay his way for spring and not our long napper Reid Ferguson.

Not hard to understand if there was questions ab his talent.

They why ever accept his commitment. And you just don't tell an OL to greyshirt over a long snapper...come on. A long snapper.

We're stacked with offensive linemen, he wouldn't have even played this year. Our long snapper though, is probably going to start. Bigger need for this year

He will start, but you don't ever scare off an OL. Ferguson probably would have paid, he's from Buford, GA...people from around there are usually well off.

Can you name another long snapper on the team other than Reid Ferguson?

Not all the staff thought he was worth taking, looks like there was enough of a question bc they tried delaying the kid. Believe what you want.

And we would have just had to wait till summer to get Ferguson, not like he wouldn't be snapping in the fall.

Did the other snapper get recruited by other schools and was he even rated nationally? I think he is a walk-on brought in for depth. I'll take our only legitimate snapper a few months early just to get him the extra practice than to chance him no being fully ready for the fall. Miller wouldn't come close to starting for LSU any time soon and there are guys who would be ahead of him on the depth chart. I'll have to side with the staff's decision on this one.

Boudreaux was on the team last year, so apparently he's a good enough long snapper walk on to make the team 2 consecutive years. I'm pretty sure we would have gotten by just fine this spring with him and getting Ferguson in the summer so we could have had Miller on campus and in our strength and conditioning program for OL. It's not like Ferguson needed that. A long snapper and his punter/holder only need so much practice to get their thing down pat. Could have easily done that in less than a week in the fall/summer.

We had 3 deep snappers graduate from last year. Our backup long snapper is actually seth fruge
Being a long snapper isn't as easy as you think. Imagine a last second field goal to win a game in front of 90K people, or punting from inside our endzone. The pressure can be immense, even for deep snappers.
