Baker? Salmen has a horrible offensive system. Most likely LSU saw some hidden talent there.

If they offered this early without waiting to camp evaluations, they must like something.

Yeah, he is listed as a WR but maybe they see something in him to make a position switch

I'm not really sure. I've never seen him play, but from what I've read on this board and other places a lot of people are questioning this early offer.

Yea I hear ya. You know, my high school team played will Arnold in high school, and he absolutely got worked by our DE who had no chance at playing college ball. Now I was his backup, and will destroyed me, so I guess I can't talk. Nevertheless, the point is maybe sometimes measurables can overcome bad tape. I don't know, it is puzzling though.

Scout Im sure Scout will look similar to Rivals. They have their best chance of being ranked higher on 247 than any other service becasue they do a good job coming in this state and evaluating kids ... the others dont.

Scout has evaluators in La. Scout and 247 are good but I agree rivals sucks.

I haven't claimed to know shite about recruiting. In fact, I've made it more than clear that I know absolutely nothing. Why don't YOU go back to the rant if you don't want to discuss or read people discussing LSU commits or possible recruits you fricking maroon.

Yep. They may see something in him that makes them think they can coach him up and make him into a solid player. I was just curious after reading so many posts about people not knowing too much about him or questioning the offer.

Im the fricking moron? You start your post saying I don't care about rankings, but then ask where these kids will be ranked. Am I off base? You can only get so much out of what ur op stated.

These kids haven't finished their sr year. The final rankings wont come out til this time next year. The kids were offered. We have a huge problem if coaches are accepting these kids and don't want them. Im also pretty sure miles wouldn't have lasted til 07 if this was happening.

Maroon was the word I used.

I asked for rankings to get an idea of how good these kids are, not to make a final decision to whether they suck or not.

Yes.

And you apparently got none of it.

Where has anyone said this is what is going on? People are posting what they have heard about kids. No one is pretending they are recruiting analysts. If you would have actually read the thread instead coming in here and firing off that stupidity you would realize that. All we are doing is discussing the commits and what people have heard about them or seen from them.

Again, if you don't want to discuss recruits, or read people's opinions on LSU recruits/targets, then you are on the wrong board.

No way in hell anyone works harder than Clean at evaluating kids. You might not like his thoughts on someone, but he busts his arse to evaluate as many kids as possible in LA and get them as much exposure as he can.

So out of the 3 commits we have right now, its safe to say that Brazil is easily the best one we have? Do you guys think we hang out onto him considering that whole de-commit and re-commit shite that went down a week or 2 ago?

He came to the JR Day to recruit other players and is most likely going to be the captain of the class.

You're right. I forgot about this. Did he ever give an explanation for the de-commit?

If
Deanthony Thomas was a 5 Star

Video

Shouldn't Jeryl Brazil be ranked similarly.
Brazil is faster too.

He's no professional but you would hope that a player that LSU is recruiting and offered thsi early would stand out significantly.

Avery Johnson was pretty much a non factor at WR his senior year because his offense sucked...Nobody has said we shouldn't have taken him

You are absolutely correct. Coppage works his arse off to scout and properly evaluate the kids in LA. Sonny also does a great job. They make TSD worth the money because you get their input on the top players in the state. The best in the business when it comes to evaluating LA kids. Problem is that they have no great influence on how Greg Simmons ranks the kids for the Southeast region for Scout and then how they get ranked nationally. All they can do is turn in their evals and press for certain kids but ultimately it's up to Simmons and the other national guys on Scout to rank them and where the kids star and position rankings end up. I think that was more the original posters thoughts. The overall rankings on Scout would be more along the lines of Rivals than 247. Barton Simmons has significant pull in the national rankings on 247 therefore the rankings vary more in LA kids favor there. Scout did a good job overall this year but most of the year had Travin Dural as the #98 wr in the country. That's ridiculous.

No it's not safe to say this. Why do people do this all early? They haven't even played their senior year. Heck if I had to pick the best film so far, I like White the best. All you are getting here is a bunch of people's opinions so NOO it's not safe to say Brazil is easily the best.
