Is Khairi Clark the DT LSU is recruiting as a Full Back? I saw somewhere LSU was trying to recruit a top DT from Florida as a Full Back.

You don't recruit a top 40 player in the country to play fullback. He's a DT.

He was the only DT from Florida listed in the link Chinese58 provided. Maybe it was another DT that is not listed.

Maybe it was this guy.

2014 DT Chris Nelson, Victory Christian Academy, Florida

Darrell Williams is more of a possibility than Palelei at this point. He is getting a lot of interest.

looking at this, can't see why we didn't take Adam Taylor this year. Doesn't look like a lot of interest from out of state backs or much in state for 2014. IN state just Fournette and a couple of possible prospects, Williams and Pallilei.

Unless we make a huge impression on one of the FL backs, expect Darrell Williams to be the 2nd back. May not even wait around for one of the OOS backs. Williams is a beast and definitely LSU caliber. He'll get offered and likely sooner rather than later.

As for the 3rd back, expect some time to pass before we know the direction. Definitely about a change of pace back and I expect some OOS kids to get those looks first. Paleilei is a guy the staff likes a lot and may end up being a camp guy. The issue will be what happens if other schools start offering him and pressing. It could move up our process with him or cost us him. As long as we land Fournette and Williams then I'm good. 2 monsters instate in '15 as well. We'll be good at RB as long as things go according to plan. I do think we should've taken Taylor but that's behind us now and it's time to move on

Just out of curiosity, IYO who's spot would Taylor have taken in 2013 class if we would have offered?

He decommitted from OU and is now committed to Okie State.

Pretty sure his 2013 Broken Arrow teammate, RB Cameron Wrenn was committed to OU at one time too. I don't know for sure but Thomas' decommit may have something to do with Wrenn's relationship with OU going bad. OU may have only offered Wrenn in a attempt to get Thomas. Wrenn hasn't signed with anyone yet. Does seem to have any offers.

Haven't seen a whole lot of tape on him yet but I'd imagine he'll get an offer soon depending how he works out at summer camp.... With that being said, CLM style of running the ball centers around the power running game with bigger backs. And from what I've seen Paleilei is a third down type of back as well. I think it's a good possibility we may have to wait on Brossette in the class of 15 for the next big back that's needed for the running game.

The staff must be pretty confident on getting Fournette for some reason. Must be things we don't know going on behind the scenes that makes them feel that way. They went all in on Fournette. 2013 class turned away a good back in Adam Taylor. 2014 class not much there in state other than Fournette and doesn't seem to be a lot of interest at this time from out of state backs. If we get Fournette and say a Williams or Pellilie then it's all good, if not, doesn't seem to be a lot there.

Any thoughts on Shannon Cage? Is he LSU/SEC caliber or more of a mid major prospect?

Link?
I talk with Palelei's Dad three or four times per week and I assure you LSU is all over him.

I know he is shifty but what kind of speed does Palelei have? Is he a track man also?

He ran a 4:38 a couple weeks back, but at the NUC Combine last Summer, ran a 4:32 and a 4.1 shuttle. He's running Track, but not really a "Track" guy.

I realize you like the kid and are personally invested in him. There are 5 other running backs with LSU offers and his only offers are BYU and Utah. Parents are not always the most reliable people for recruiting info. Give us a Link to a probable LSU offer. Les has never used a small back at LSU. Ford was his smallest back at 215lbs. If you want to talk about Palelei as a defensive back then maybe so, but as a running back I would be very surprised. I have seen him play and he is a very good player but not really a fit for a team like LSU. He is similar to Khalil Thomas (Catholic High) which is not a knock because Thomas is a really good football player.
