Simmons doesn't even look at LSU if Patrick is not on the coaching staff

Well, when LSU started to recruit Simmons, he was still in Australia and largely an unknown. LSU likely wouldn't have recruited Australia without Patrick, but people forget that the big schools didn't really start recruiting until he announced his move to Monteverde.

I think CJJ wanted Patrick because DP is from Baton Rouge and has great recruiting ties. However, don't think for a second CJJ didn't know that he had a ridiculously sick godson. Simmons may have been unknown to us, but I can assure you any recruiter worth a damn knew who he was since the 8th grade.

It's not that easy to just send people to go to Australia for a Freshman in high school. Do you realize how much money that is for recruiting? Especially a kid that far away from graduating. Yea, he started getting recruited heavily at Verde, but that was the end of his Sophomore season. Still a long time

From a source on Tiger Rant:

Just got a phone call from a relative of Andre's and someone very involved in Jackson basketball. He said Andre is playing on the Celtics' D team (SIAP)and that he has talked to several other coaches in the last few days who are very close to the situation, and all of them are saying that Malik is going to go to LSU to play with Ben Simmons.

If it were to happen, LSU next year would probably look like Villanova this season with a 4 guard line up. Of course, if you bring Mickey back, then LSU may have the most talented roster in the country with a mix of great young talent and experienced upperclassmen. I'm not one to put unrealistic expectations on anyone, but honestly, anything less than a Final Four appearance with that roster would be disappointing.

Unless something drastically changes LSU fans should have a good April fools day.

Maybe, but I still think the most common lineup will have 2 bigs:

Simmons (F), Victor/Mickey (F), Blakeney (G), Newman (G), TQ/Hornsby (G/F)

Hornsby/TQ, Gray, Victor (if Mickey comes back), Epps, Patterson to provide quality depth with Big-E, Malone and Bridgewater pushing for playing time.

I hope we can keep one of Simmons, Blakeney or Newman for 2 years just so the year after isn't too destabilizing. Maybe the staff already has several quality guys lined up for the next class but I haven't heard.

Even 2 years from now I think LSU will have a veteran team with Patterson, Epps, Robinson, Bridgewater, Victor, Quarterman (maybe). I think Blakeney stays at least 2 years, Malone, so that's 8 solid players with should be alot of experience.

Honestly, if Devin booker is a top 20 pick, so is Blakeney

They're pretty similar players, but Booker has performed beyond his billing for this season.

Maybe it is just me, but I think in 2017 Elbert Robinson will have developed into a solid big and Victor will be dangerous. Jones may need to alter his style a little, more of post game than a run and gun, but I think we should be pretty good.

LordoftheManor-My reason for Blakeney staying 2 years is that in year 2, he will be the unquestioned starter at shooting guard. 2015 he will be sharing alot of minutes with Hornsby. Heck I could live with Patterson at point, Blakeney at SG, Quarterman, Victor and Robinson. Blakeney would have the spotlight to shine.
