Expect Travonte Valentine to suit up for the Tigers this year
Seems like a stretch with all the hours he needs to take, but ok! Would be huge.

nice
I still don't see how we get 3 top safeties
if we get Harris and Delpit, I have no idea how (or why) we could get Stevens

Especially considering Ed Alexander may not qualify.

There's always one in every class and Delpit (when/if he commits) will be that one. Of course I'm talking about the recruit recruiter. Plus, he's going to IMG so we'll have a man on the inside.
Love that this Valentine thing might still work. Could be a key piece in having an Alabama type run defense. More so than passing, I've wanted teams to loathe running the ball against us like they do Bama. We haven't had that in a long while. The pass defense usually takes care of itself with the talent we have back there.

That's still a 340lb. "IF"...but I'm with you if he makes it....we will be formidable !

The odds are that Valentine will be second string next year IF he makes it.
Posted on 6/1/16 at 9:56 pm to Penrod
You literally have no way of knowing that.

Second String? Really?
How about just saying he'll likely be in the rotation that'll give our d-line depth and keep legs fresh for the 4th quarter in Goliath games? That's a little more accurate way to describe the situation than throwing out the "second string" label. Completely unnecessary

If he makes it then (obviously if he's as good as some people say he is) he plays nose and we slide Godchaux outside opposite Neal. That's a sick starting lineup. We're gonna set up Key, Godchaux, and Neal in a lot of one on one situations which doesn't bode well for anyone lining up across from us.
Then you throw in some exotic blitzes with Beckwith and some of the DBs coming in like bats out of hell and it's downright scary!
Life for an LSU DB will become a lot easier this year, as if those studs needed any help.

Oh my, this board is always in love with the possible new toys. Hopefully Valentine will make it and be the new Chad Lavalais, but frankly I wouldn't assume either proposition since he hasn't played a down in two years. Down vote away.

Damn slideshows lol. But Valentine looking good!

That he'll be second string? Of course not. That's why the word "odds" was in there.
BTW, you're point, that there's no way of knowing that, is also my point. I was responding to a group of yo-yos who were benching our two year starter for a guy we've never seen play. You should tell them, "You literally have no way of knowing that."
