The days of two high end QBs committing in one class for any program are over. College bound QB prospects no longer accept having to compete for their spot. Sad.

Russo isn't high end AT ALL. The 24th ranked pro QB, 655th ranked recruit. His offer list is poo as well. The best offer he has is the one he is committed to. Now there are some higher academic colleges that offered him, but in terms of football powers, NONE of them are even close.

This is what a lot of national powers do. Grab their top end QB, and pick up a project type or a guy that fits their system and can add depth.

Conner Cook was a 3 star. His offer list was MSU, Miami of Ohio, Ohio and Toledo. He was 6'3" 220LBS.

Just saying. He's done pretty good I would say.

Get this kid and whoever else.

But believing Cameron would remain was not nearly enough to keep Franks committed, not sure how important that would be to this QB.

Maybe he would just hope to play in the SEC.

The criteria used to determine "high end" amounts to lazy recruiting. You cant just click on a link, and believe what a reporter says about a kid. Livals, _47sports, and Shout.com tells you a kid is a 3 star, and you assume that he's low end. Don't believe the hype.

When he says, the days of getting two high end QBs is over, what else could he mean? How do you know if a guy is going to be high end or not? Since the only things you can define high end on in recruiting is ranking and offer list, then I can safely say Russo is not high end.

It's like saying Manziel was high end after the fact he blew up, or Marcus Mariota was high end only after he blew up. Would you have classified Connor Cook high end before he went to MSU?

So yes there are guys who get over looked, by recruiting services and programs alike, but that's not how you define high end, not at all.

In believe his emphasis was "NOT HIGH END AT ALL". Fact is, high end is high end. If a guy was a 5 star and doesn't produce, he was never a 5 star. It was a farce. A fraud. Likewise, If a two star lights it up in a major way, his ranking was a farce. Point, film don't lie.

No, I said not high end at all, he said the days of getting two high end QBs in a single class is over now. So I basically refuted him buy saying Russo isn't high end, and it's the truth.

Sigh, you don't understand. Say you are selling a product. The "high end" product looks pretty and from the commercial, does whatever it does pretty damn good. Then you have the off brand, cheap brand or "low end" brand of that same product.

The majority are fighting over the limited top product or "high end", yet there are tons of the "low end" that very few people care to do anything beyond look at it.

High end is not determined after the fact, that's hindsight. Some people may think they know this or that low ranked kid is a "diamond in the rough", but it's a guess. Hell, this is my 4th class I'm on here looking at, and you wouldn't believe the amount of "oh this 3 star kid is going to be really good" posts you see (me included). So far only Lewis Neal has done anything.

Datboyoubengal:

We are on the same page. To further both points, to often, these "high end" guys end up holding clip boards through their careers. Too much QB, not enough "football player" in them.

LOL. If he thinks he is high end, that's all that matters as far as my statement is concerned. It's these QB's who are choosing to transfer, not the school choosing to release them from their scholarships. So, if two QB's believe they are high end, and one doesn't want to compete against others of his perceived caliber, then he goes somewhere else.

Your high v. low end product analogy is horrendous. The decision to offer and and the decision commit is a two way transaction. The decision to buy quality toilet paper vs. low end toilet paper is a one-way decision. The toilet paper has no bias for or against it's own ability like, say a HS QB does.
