I am assuming if it's true then he was there to see Darrius Guice. Just seems to me that he would only be out hitting up the 2014 guys. Can anyone confirm this? Also, does anyone have any idea of where we stand with Guice?

I may be the only one but I read this as saying that Charlie Strong was Catholic.

As in changing his religion to get recruits.

Did he stop to see Jermaine Roberts while in the area?

I thought coaches could not visit 2015 prospects yet as per NCAA rule?

it would make no sense that he is in la. as much work that he has to do in 2015 in texas.

Feldman tweeted this today. Interesting.

@BFeldmanCBS: Text from a college coach: "Can someone teach the SEC coaches the NCAA rules! They can't meet with 2015 recruits"

Sounds like that same person should teach the Big XII coaches too.

Likely texted to him by someone else that was breaking rules to visit '15s.

it just shows that coaches don't give a damn about the rules and by inference don't give a damn about the ncaa.

Assitant coaches run into each other all the time on illegal recruiting visits. No one turns anyone in because it's MAD. And assistants don't rat on each other because you never know who you might need to call for a job.

why would anyone care about the NCAA these days? seriously? cheat one, cheat all.

Bama's asst coach gave their star safety money. Bama self-imposes him missing the UK and Georgia State games. NCAA says, "ok, we good."

You have ex Bama players talking about the money they got (Fluker?) as they walk out the door. NCAA does nothing.

You have Bama "staffers" and "handlers" living on HS campuses. NCAA does nothing.

Screw it. Just keep up with the Joneses on the cheating, at the very least.

well it's so damn hard to nail someone on it anyway. It's not illegal to visit schools. It's not illegal to talk to coaches. It's not illegal to "accidentally" bump into a recruit while doing so. You can't however, set up a meeting at the school like you can for SRs.

Whoever gave that quote to Feldman is just a whiner that doesn't want to recruit. Hard charging recruiters don't give a frick that others are doing this because they are too.

Based on the June Jones thread on the CCB, it's probably an SMU asst.

Just because he was at Catholic or U-High doesnt mean he was meeting with recruits. And he can say hey to the recruit and shake their hand. He just cant have a set up meeting with the recruit.

Coaches go there to meet with high school coaches and talk about certain players and who the school has coming up that could potentially be a recruit. College coaches like to get in tight with high school coaches at programs that produce D1 football players.

Not saying its likely, but Strong could have been there for a # of reasons.

It's about Saban in California "bumping into" a top 2015 QB.
