If LSU culled the herd the way Shorty does, we'd turn loose some projects that don't have "it"...the way I counted, we could go as high as 27-28 if we really wanted to get serious about building a NC team...jmho

This was stated several times last fall, then LSU wound up not going over 25.

I'm sure someone will correct me with the quickness if this is incorrect, but last year we had only one junior leave early. That makes for a larger senior class this year & we'll have at least 3 jr's leave this year (Leonard, Jamal & Davon). Sounds like Lacouture is leaving, Malachi could go (don't think he should) & who knows what the frick is up w/ Travonte & if he'll be on the roster. Plus u had Quinn & T. Johnson transfer before/during fall camp. With a few inevitable off season transfers, I think we could take 28 easily.
ETA - and they need to get a few extra LB's. Wouldn't be a bad idea to go hard after a full grown arse man juco LB. We have too many safeties playing LB

25 signees is all a team can take in the normal class...but more can be taken if they are early entrees...and still stay within the 85 total cap...someone who knows more than me on the subject is welcome to explain better if you can...I'm no expert on the subject...

It has been said that a quality coaching staff will know how to work with the scholarship #s, so even if 25 plus recruits are signed this spring, LSU should not have any problems.

It's based on the # of slots not filled last year. Those can be applied to ee for this year but count towards last year numbers.
