This should definitely be the guy to push Nuss. The coaches went in-home with him. Hopefully we reel him in. He won some big games vs Clemson, and Miami. MJ interview

If we were looking for someone to “push” Nuss, don’t yall think we would be going after the top QB’s in the portal? They are looking for someone better than Rickie Collins that won’t make Nuss bolt or effect Underwood’s recruitment. Tigerdroppings doesn’t have faith in Nuss, but the coaches do.

The top QBs wouldn’t be coming to “push” somebody they’re guaranteed to start wherever they go , use your head. You think a school is gonna spend a million plus for a top qb to NOT be the starter ?

Why did he opt out the rest of the season to preserve his redshirt when he was playing?

Why is he saying NC State didn’t want him back?

He’s a cancer and so is his dad. You guys don’t want the headaches they will bring.

I don't even know if better is the right terminology. They are looking for someone with more in-game experience than Collins to be an experienced backup. They will be able to compete for the starting job, obviously, but the coaches are really looking for experienced depth here.

Obviously some of you guys don’t watch Coach Kelly’s interviews. They want to do what’s best for the university not individual players. It’s not about "not having faith in Nuss" if Nuss gets hurt or becomes complacent then you want someone to push/challenge him for the spot.

Did you watch the interview within the link??? The guy wants a fresh start just like the thousand+ who are in the portal.

Dad shopped him around in middle and high school. Was a pain in the arse to the coaches making demands. At NCST he refused to play more than four games so he could save his redshirt.

No this guy is a good DT QB, exactly what they’re looking. He fits to a tee, young, experienced, mobility, and seasoned. He won some big games and will push Nuss to stay sharp, Nuss better be #1 even over any guy we bring in period because that’s what he’s trained for 3yrs. You’re right this guy is perfect for what we need. Someone who can push Nuss, experienced but Nuss better not be threatened by him or Nuss ain’t the QB we need. As far as Bryce he’s coming here regardless no matter who comes here, if he chooses us he’s the future, Sloan CBK, Denbrock have made that clear. Bryce is a Franchise, Game changer. No transfer or commit is going to change is potential or talent he’ll be the best QB on the team even with Nuss next year, but he’s still has to be seasoned or acclimated to the college game first. He’s that good and still only 17?yrs old this guy is “IT”. If we are recruiting Morris to not rock the boat for Bryce then so be it then that means maybe we have the confidence that he picks LSU. He’s a a program changer albeit we’ve had 2 Heisman QBs in four years which is fkg amazing considering where we were just 5yrs ago after a decade of horrible QB play. Morris chks all the boxes for what we need to going into 24 season especially if we are fortunate enough to sign Bryce. 25 season:
Nuss - starter
Morris
Collins
Hurley
Bryce Underwood fingers crossed, he will push Nuss but Nuss if he’s what we think then Bryce, Morris will be awesome backups along with Collins surely improving, Colin with a 1 1/2,yrs under his belt at LSU still only 18.
Burrow & Daniels have made LSU, a QB destination, it’s remarkable that for 15?yrs people and fans would say only if LSU had a QB. Times a changing boyzz!

You must not watch interviews. In his last PC he literally addressed taking a QB in the portal stating that you have to be careful to not push your current or future players away. Again, if the goal was to create a competition, MJ Morris wouldn’t be the dude they would go after.

MJ did just like Nuss. He had an agreement with the coaching staff to redshirt and he did just like Nuss when Kirkland was the QB against K State. He got his agreed to redshirt. The good news is he's a sophomore looking to be coached so he can hopefully make an NFL roster. ... The NC St coach was pissed and told him to look for another school, and he is.

He did not do what Nuss did. Nuss sat out a bowl game with a roster of 39 people and an interim HC for a meaningless bowl game.

MJ was the starter and opted out the balance of the season, which was a very productive one for the Wolfpack.

He seems kinda selfish to me. You have been given the starting position and you quit on your team to red shirt? The team was struggling before he was inserted as starter and he decides that his redshirt was more important than his team winning games

Semantics. Both quit on their team in a time of need due to completely selfish reasons. Like it or not, that's the facts. Huge reason I'm not on the Nuss Bus. If times don't go his way he'll just quit again. I'd take 50 Jontre Kirklins over the Nuss' of the world. Short of a crystal ball he gets no breaks from me.
However, I do have a soft spot for redemption so I understand that sentiment as well. Comes down to it, I just want to win games no matter the character of those that help that cause.

It’s not at all the same thing, and I say this as someone who wasn’t a fan of the decision not to play Nuss in the bowl game at the time.

One guy was a backup whose starter quit, and who came to a mutual decision with the interim head coach (and, if we’re being honest, likely with Brian Kelly as well). The other was a starter who refused to go on a trip and got dismissed from his team.

We have no idea where Brad Davis and Brian Kelly stood with the decision to sit Nussmeier. For all we know, they were completely on board and didn’t want to burn his redshirt either. Which looks more and more like the smart decision in hindsight.
