I live two miles from UCONN and would love to give B. Mingo a shoutout and a geaux tigers while he is here.

UPDATE: I just drove through campus and on the hillside at the cow pasture "MINGO" is spelt out in the snow in 10' block letters. If it wasn't behind lock and key I would go spell out a big LSU!!

According to Rivals, he'll be at the UConn-Providence basketball game on Saturday.

Pimp some P&G for us!

I can't blame him. Free trips are cool. When I was at the end of my grad. school I took 4 job interviews in 3 different states b/c they were free. Even though I already signed with a hospital in New Orleans.

Thanks for posting that. I don't know why people act like it is so unusual for kids to use up their allotment. People in industry do things like that all the time.

He must really want to see a good college basketball game. Why else would a poor kid from North LA choose to use a free trip to UConn in Jan?

Hi temp. 23 degrees and windy in CT today. That should help him make up his mind.

They better pick out some good music for the long drive to the stadium.

My guess is that he is visiting UConn because their coach is a class act and it is a rising program. Rumors on UConn boards are that he's given the Huskies a commitment. I don't believe it though, but he is THE #1 recruit for them. That's not the case with LSU.

Storrs is pretty far from New York though. Probably at least 2 and a half hours away. It isn't even that close to Bristol, so I don't think there would be any tie-ins with ESPN (somehow that seems like it could be a recruiting violation, too).

Maybe he is a fan of the UConn basketball team and likes Randy Edsall? He seems like a promising coach. Still, it seems like nothing more than a symbolic visit.
