It would have been nice but it isn't that big of a deal, getting in for Spring is the most important thing. I would also guess it has less to do with the NCAA and more to do with the timing of the situation.

Mario Stevenson is the only player I can think of that actually went through bowl practices as a Spring enrollee.

Why is he pissed at scike? I hope mike's mafia on the recruiting board doesn't find out about this.

Well on Tiger Talk Show in alexandria today, Ponamsky said the issue was Butlers end and he thought it was kinda fishy.

Then Scike said Mett texted him today and said he had to go before a committee since he has had a prior arrest and that his papers would be here thursday, Scike then said he thinks it all will get pushed through and resolved quick and mett might get here early.

Take FWIW

He'd be taking reps from BB and TC, not the starters.

Wrong. He's not taking reps from anyone. He'd be on the sideline watching. Maybe looking at a playbook.

If Mett were here, he would run the scout team offense in preparation for the game. Since he would be replicating A&M's offense instead of learning our own, it's not like he'd be missing a lot of important stuff, but it would obviously be great for him to start making friends and connecting to his teammates.

Plus, I think that would pose more of a challenge to our defense than TC or Barrett, so the negative is to our preparation for the game, as they would see a crummier scout team without him.

What straws am I grasping for? I read somewhere that he would be running the scout team in preparation for the bowl game, but I don't have time to search for the link. Pretty confident that I'm correct about that.

You don't know how Bowl practices work. They don't spend every practice in preparation for the Bowl game. Many practices are used specifically to give young guys reps.

Getting Mettenberger a chance to get his feet wet during bowl season would be a huge benefit for a guy who we are all hoping makes a huge push during the spring.

I hope it's not the same guys who handled Dexter Pratt's papers.

Didn't he get kicked out of Okie St or something? Pretty sure there was a lot more going on than just paper work in that situation.

Well im glad he didnt come to LSU. I watched in play in 2 games in Navasota and he had big runs but could not finished it and when he did, he fumbled the ball.

Don't know how anyone can think having almost DOUBLE the practices under his belt before the fall isn't a HUGE advantage.

Didn't do much for JJ,JL or Crowton and "Stud the Dud."

Sucks. He could use the time to learn how to read the ends on the read option.

Dexter Pratt was supposed to be an early enrollee and arrived in Baton Rouge only to find that there wasnt enough room for him to enroll. He was told he needed to enroll during the summer I guess after he arrived. The coaches had him stay at a current players house on the couch where he had his wallet, cell phone, and other belongings stolen from him. The head coach at Navasota sent another coach up there to pick him up and bring him home. Then he decommitted from LSU and committed to Okie St.

He didn't have certain things with his transcript on the up and up and caused compliance to reassess his standing with LSU.
