LSU's Director of Player Personnel Austin Thomas

Talks for a while about the process behind the staff's recruiting efforts (starts around 4:40)
For anyone that's unfamiliar with Thomas, he is a huge reason why we recruit at such a high level. He and his support staff break down film and identify the players our coaches go out and recruit. He and Justin Vincent are pretty involved once recruits get on campus as well. Guys like Thomas are afterthoughts in recruiting to fans, but he's a really instrumental piece of the puzzle that could land us the #1 class this year.

I just hope we keep him longer than expected. I imagine a bunch of NFL teams are looking at him. He's VERY good at his job and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Some recruits have outright said he is a big reason they've considered coming to LSU.

It really grinds my gears they only asked 2 damn questions and they were about the USCe game. Seriously? That's the best yall could do?
I would ask hours of questions if he had the time. They didn't even ask the simple recruiting questions (who was the best prospect you've ever seen, who surprised you, hows recruiting going this year)

He interned under Frank Wilson at Tennessee. Learned from the best.

Worked with Ed O at Tennessee and USC as well.
