I would keep Griggs in LF, move Landry to center, and work with Satchell in the outfield. She is athletic. Plus she has a nice bat. I expect Amber Serrett to take over 2nd Base, with Shemiah Sanchez getting opportunities there as well as DH. Constance Quinn may be a distant memory sadly. Theres just so much talent coming in its unreal. I think Amber wins 2B because she is phenomenal defensively. She also brings power to the plate. I expect her to hit over .300 her freshman year. Sanchez may also play 2nd. Her bat will be too valuable not to have in the line up. She will likely DH a lot and share 2B with Serrett. Torina will experiment with things in the fall. Its exciting to have this problem though.

Don't discount Bourg just yet. She has grown leaps and bounds since given the opportunity and her hands defensively are solid. She may be a step slow to be a middle player since she seems to be a 2.8 or 2.9 runner but she will not go away easily and will continue to get better.

Quickness and instincts are probably way more important for that than straight line speed.

Theres no doubt Bourg will be solid and a good player. I can tell you from watching both Serrett and Sanchez that they would replace Bourg. Serrett is known for her defense. She could easily be LSU's best defender next season. She is very dangerous at the plate as well. She has developed a lot more power over the last couple years. Like Torina said, she will make an impact on this team and the SEC. She is great all around offensively and defensively. As for Sanchez, she has a Bianka Bell type bat. She has loads of power. Her bat is way too valuable to be on the bench. She will be given opportunities at DH as well as probably 2nd base. As good as they all are, it will come down to who shows up during fall practice. Who works the hardest and provides the most. Torina will definitely be having an open competition there. Aside for that outfield spot, 2B is the only position not solidified next season.

I might be off, but I still don't think 3B is locked in yet. Savannah is good, but she is a better catcher than 3B and will be the only catcher after Kloss leaves. There is no way she is going to be the sole 3B option next year. If Kreamer could hit she would be the 3B starter with Savannah and Kloss rotating at DP/C. The issue is the bench is full of .200-.250 hitters right now.

Jaquish will play at catcher next season as well as 3b. The best line up would be with her at 3rd, she is very solid there and bats way better than Kreamer. We have an elite catcher coming in not next season but the following season. Plus Shemiah Sanchez will be used in the DH a lot next season. You want your best players on the field. I think Kreamer is very solid defensively. The difference between her and Jaquish defensively isn't much. Sanchez like Bianka bell is too valuable offensively, so Beth will find her opportunities. We have a lot of talent coming in this coming class, so we shall see.

Sanchez as a junior batted .463 with 15 doubles, 12 homers and 49 rbis. She had a better senior year this year.

What about moving Savannah into the 1b/c role, Bell to 2nd, Amber to SS, and Shemiah or Sandra to 3rd? The infield is below average defensively and these changes might help

There will be defensive changes. Simmons doesn't have the arm for 3rd. Bell needs to be re evaluated, the left side does need to change

Am I crazy or isn't Simmons left handed? I believe 1 of 3 things will happen:

1) Savannah & a freshman will rotate the position. If any of the freshman can't hit then,

2) It goes back to how it was this year with Savannah & Kreamer rotating until playoffs/important games.

3) A freshman wins the position midway through the year and Savannah goes back to rotating C/DP with Kloss. That gives both girls the most rest/AB combo.

I could see Bell going to 2B, maybe. She just made the national team. She is the career HR leader. She is not going to DH for her entire SR year. Just won't happen. She might get some "rest" from the field and DH then, but I expect her to be on the diamond more often than not.

As we all saw at one point, and it's happened many times, 2 straight hits were recorded after Bell cleanly came up with a grounder only to be too late on the throw to first. It puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get SO's just to get an out. Bianca could become a DH every game if Beth can find a quicker SS.

Beth has 3 quicker SS's coming in. She has a quicker one playing 2B right now. It's not about that IMO. It's about what the "demotion" would do to Bell's mental game. Could she deal with it and continue to improve her numbers or would she take it as an insult and drop off. That's a huge risk. It's cost us in games, yes. Yet we just finished 3rd in the nation. If you can reign it in a little bit more, maybe you make it through to the title games.

It will interesting to see what happens.

If that's towards me, you'd be wrong. I think some of the incoming freshman can win spots. There's a difference.

Kreamer is not going to start, she may get time but she is not going to be a SEC starter. Simmons is a natural 1B, she has played there all three years, and she is a damn good one. She is not leaving 1B. I don't know if it was you or another poster but I do not understand that hate with Jaquish. Yes she isn't the best 3B player bur she is solid and has a great arm. The alternative to me without question is either move Bell to 2nd or she can DH, that position has killed us badly. Let SS be up for grabs between Sanchez and Serrett.
Jaquish is not what is killing us, its the middle of the infield mainly. We can always have Jaquish DH, have a freshman slide into 3B and SS, have bell move to 2nd. It will be an experiment this off season

Bell's mental game, especially at the plate, has been in the tank for about a month. She had a monumental collapse after having what was an epic offensive season. She was not much of a factor in post season or thru the losing skid at the end of the year.

It was a long season, Bell and Company will be better next year and we have a shot to win it all. Beth has the pieces in place and finally has had a full cycle of recruiting. We will be stacked for quite a while.

The ground ball to SS where Bourg was at 2nd for the force and Bell decided to thrown to first instead was a big play in the game. It was a mental error that cost us. Bell is a first team all American, she just went in to the tank at the wrong time. She will grow and learn from it and be better next year.

No hate on my part at all. I think she is a great player. She will go down as the best ever at LSU when she finishes IMO.

Not to beat a dead horse but LSU really messed up not going harder after Hemphill at STM. We should start over with this kid and do whatever it takes to let her know we want her here. She is the best high school power hitting prospect I have ever seen and will make an immediate impact in the Bama order.

I know you read this Beth and Howard (haha) so do whatever it takes to start the process over and get this girl in purple and gold.

There is also a Junior transfer from ULL that will probably see significant playing time in the infield next year. Torina says this girl has the quickest hands shes ever seen.

IMO 2016 Lineup
1.) Landry CF L Jr.
2.) Griggs LF L So.
3.) Bell 2B R Sr.
4.) Jaquish DH/C R Jr.
5.) Sanchez SS R Fr.
6.) Kloss C/DH R Sr.
7.) Simmons 1B L Sr.
8.) Serrett 3B R Fr.
9.) Thymes RF L Fr.

Bench Options:
1.) Satchell UT
2.) Quinn 2B
3.) Bourg 2B

I think Thymes will get the nod at Right Field because Coach Torina likes to have a table setter at the bottom of the lineup and also Torina says Thymes will be one the fastest player ever to wear the LSU jersey. Maybe she will even get the nod in center Field. You may even see Kloss and Simmons change spots in the lineup because Coach Torina may not want Four Righties in a row.
