i fail to see how that is so funny. ND and OSU both have great classes.

It's funny because ND has had a top 25 recruiting class for at least the last five years, including the #2 overall class in 2008 according to Scout. For whatever reason, their highly recruited players usually don't pan out as well compared to other schools. Great class on paper, let's see if they can sniff a national title anytime soon.

I don't think this is too hard to figure out - Weis was a bad/mediocre college coach. Weis was a good recruiter (all of his classes were top 20), but could not develop talent at all. He's a pro coach. Now, Willingham was a bad recruiter at ND - I just looked at ND's recruiting rankings under him - 32nd and 40th.

Zook brought in some good classes at Florida. Were those classes overrated? Or underperforming due to bad coaches? I think Meyer proved it was more due to bad coaching, because he won quickly with the talent.

not entirely true---past four years the 5 star recruits from notre dame are the following:

jimmy clausen
dayne crist
manti teo
kyle rudolph
mike floyd

only one of those guys will likely not have a productive career and that is dayne crist who has had two season ending knee surgeries.

difference between this class and other classes is that ND is recruiting stud defensive linemen (three 5 stars). the recruits listed above mostly all offensive skill players. it remains to be seen how well BK will utilize this talent because weis obviously failed.

meh, rivals does not even have a midwest talent scout. additionally some of their "alleged" "better" evaluators have left for ESPN and 24/7. regardless, 99% of these guys evaluating HS talent are goobers anyways. its hard for me to believe that a "rivals goober" is somehow better at looking at scratchy film then a "scout goober" or a "ESPN goober".

yea but, but.......but....rivals is obviosly better because they rate us higher.

my interpretation of all player and team rankings is like a tier thing. top 10 is the highest tier, but team #10 is probably as good as team #1 and maybe even better. evaluating players is simply not a science and never will be. lastly, i like notre dame and hope they experience a resurgence. i think it would be good for college football. i do not understand many of the young generations' dislike for them.

Now UGA has jumped us; we're #9.

Still, we have no more room, this must be what Texas feels like.

Agree with our class being the best Just need a couple more to round it off and make it a classic
