Holy Cow this kid looks awesome on film....

Quick feet, pocket awareness, quick release, strong arm, accurate

That offense looked like it score a lot of points...

Nice looking prospect...he has to be a top 100 player in the country judging that film

He doesn't have the size to be a top 100 prospect, but definitely a solid 250 player imo. His team is pretty damn talented too, which helps. I hear that Lakewood might be able to hand Poly a loss this season.

This is what happens when you let home grown 4-star kids go someplace else...NO reason this kid couldn't have done well at LSU...

Johnson, from Norco, Louisiana, became a key target in the Hurricane offense as a receiver and on special teams as a kick returner. Johnson was named to the Freshman All-America team as a kick return specialist, and was the only Conference USA freshman named to the team.

No kidding! I'm surprised he's not being recruited by the Ivies or MIT!!!

Perfect score and all...

Unless something's changed since I took the SAT, I'd say this site does more than add inches to a player's height.

do they include the writing section on Rivals?

regardless, the film looks really good to me... I'd take him in a heartbeat. Looks to be a more developed passer as a HS senior than Jarret Lee was last year... and I love the gunslinger mentality he seems to have.

He has plenty size to be a top 100 player at QB. He may not make the top 100 but it won't have anything to do with his size.

Yeah, that was really stupid of LSU not to sign a Freshman All American Kick Returner.

I happy for the kid but DJ signed with Tulsa for a reason and as Tulsa'a ONLY 4 star (and far and away it's TOP recruit) I'm not surprised that he is a star there. Smallish but a very good role player.

yeah, a 1600 is equivalent to the low thousands now.

My equivalent score on the SAT would be in the 2000'son the new scale.

If you get a chance to take a good player, you take him. It's as simple as that.

It's not even close to as simple as that. There are lots of good players. You can only take 25 or so of them per year.

Now I understand why my niece looked at me like a dumbass when I told her I scored a 1430. I got some 'splainin' to do.

This kid looks like a high school version of Jason Campbell. Similar build, measurables, arm strength and the throwing mechanics are uncanny. Obviously he isn't quite as developed.

not as developed as jason campbell at 18?
