Are they looked at as immediate starters for next year? Or is this depth building?

Article seems to indicate that Reath could be an instant impact player at the forward position (something we desperately need).

Considering that we might potentially lose three if not four guards at the end of the upcoming season, Jenkins will probably land some minutes.

Reath appears to be the more highly-touted of the two players.

I hope we can get some more good high school guys in this class as well. We've had a lot of swings and misses on in-state guys in what seems to be a pretty strong in-state class. I like the two U-High kids, but we're going to be losing a ton off this team after this season, we need to bring in a lot.

I saw something on Jenkins saying he was a really good athlete and his defense was what stood out on him. Reath had some underwhelming numbers last year but maybe it was because he didn't get a bunch of minutes.

He only started 10 out of 31 games for Lee last year, but definitely made the most out of his minutes. Despite being 188th in minutes played, he was 25th in total rebounds and 15th in blocks. That's called bang for your buck. Dudes originally from South Sudan so he's pretty raw, but he's already showing serious progress in his post up game and shooting. He even has been known to knock down threes. Kids got serious potential.

Jenkins is a super athlete. Explosive leaper with tenacious defense. He hits the corner three with great consistency and utilizes an effective pull up jumper from 15 feet and in. He's got great length with long arms and large hands that allow him to strip ball handlers. I think he'll be a nice compliment to BSamp and whoever our PG is next year (hopefully De'Aaron Fox).

You don't sign JUCO guys to sit the bench. While they may (and probably won't) be penciled in as starters per se, I'm sure the coaching staff expects these guys to be immediate contributors next season.

With the commitment of these two guys, LSU has given out all of their "definite" open scholarships (two open scholarships this season plus those of graduating seniors, Gray and Hornsby). Obviously no one expects Simmons to stay, so that's at least one more available. Anything after that and it becomes clear that either Quarterman and/or Blakeney have already decided this is their last season at LSU, OR an underclassman on this year's team won't be on next year's team.

Wow. Very impressive. For Reath to be 6'10" and be able to do what he was doing is a amazing. He can shoot from anywhere on the court.

This is what next year's team is shaping up to be:

Center
JR. Craig Victor
JR. Elbert Robinson III
SR. Darcy Malone

Power Forward
JR. Duop Reath
SR. Brian Bridgewater

Small Forward
JR. Aaron Epps
FR. Wayde Sims

Shooting Guard
JR. Branden Jenkins
SO. Brandon Sampson

Point Guard
JR. Jalyn Patterson
FR. Skylar Mays

Certainly would love to add 1 more guard to that, or possibly hold out for the loaded 2017 class...Fox would be huge for that team. Looking at the seniority in the bigs though we could really use a big too (Ado?).

@CodyWorsham: With Reath on board, don't expect LSU to sign another big. Fifth spot, if/when available, likely to shooter, like Hayward or Vasiljevic
