Out of state top recruits tend to scare me. Can you really count on them. More great recruits are staying home. Not all of them but look at Dorial, Clowney...and the last QB we thought we had. I was told by a recruiter that the kids that have a great home life are hard to get them to leave. In turn if a 5 star recruit does not have the greatest family life you can get them away because the university is going to treat them better than they ever had it. sounds true...

I hope we're after the other Dallas-area QB, Tyrone Swoopes.

I have seen him play several times and he is good but he is definitely a big fish in a small pond. I doubt if he has ever played against a Div 1 athlete. Not saying he can't play just hasn't been tested. Those comparing him tho R Shepard as a runner don't really understand the difference in the talent he is playing against compared to what Shepard was playing against.Shepard is at least 2 tenths faster in the 40.Swoopes is more physical.

Particularly this early. That interest doesn't ever seem to pan out over a long recruiting period.

Schools have to get involved with OOS kids early now to be in the picture later in most cases. Most of the interest will not be maintained throughout the process but the 10-12 kids that do maintain interest will be because we were on them early. Recruiting in most cases is built on relationships. The earlier the relationship is started the better chance of that relationship winning out in the end.
