would you recruit someone with his set of skills and lack of mobility?

I think the Jason Whites and Zach Mettenbergers can only take you so far.

We did last year. His name is Hayden Rettig. USC continues to recruit these type of QB's. Goddamnit, your threads suck.

Yes. Good quarterbacks are not that common. Ex: See LSU the years before Mett.

With the proper offense, they can take you very far. How good could this team have been with one of our better defenses from years past?

I think you need a powerful O line if you're going to have a statue for qb

I think you need someone that can scramble when they have to. Pick up a first on 3rd and 5 type thing.

He'd take us as far as the O-line could block.

The only time lack of mobility is a factor is when you have a line that can't pass block.

There are a lot of college qbs out there that are very successful. Was JJ great? I believe it depends on a players skill set and ability to learn. You Suck dude. Sorry/thread

Rettig is wayyyyy more mobile than Mettenberger.

He's smaller, but he is strictly a pocket passer like Mett.

Rex has a point.

McCarron has much more scrambling ability than ZM.

Our last 2 Championship winning QB's Mauck and Flynn were pretty good at pervading a pass rush.

This is how I picture Rex running the football program:

"Sorry Mr. Manning, but we are just not interested in offering Peyton a scholarship because he can't run the option."

Why? Is that a serious question?

Because he has the physical talent to do so... duh

kids with arms like Mett's don't grow on trees...secret is, you have to have a strong oline and running game for balance.

Pocket passers, Scramble QBs, and Dual-threats.

Research them.
