Looking at the depth chart if Beckwith leaves early along with D Jones being a senior all that is left if Lewis along with Riley & Alexander. The latter 2 or not SEC caliber. We did not sign a single LB recruit last year. What the hell is next year going to be like?

I think 2-3 of our commits/recruits will be able to step in day one and "contribute" if we sign rashaun smith he will start day 1 and be good. divinity will play a lot.

we also have voorhies. I think he will pack on another 15 pounds this offseason and be a player.

I also would watch for a move from ducre. mouton has the 2FB locked up and will play a lot of football.

Beckwith should not be leaving. His instincts still need work.

Beckwith needs to play downhill on the other side of the line of scrimmage. He looks like he is on skates when he is a read and react type of linebacker.

Did you miss the part where the coaches who recruited them will likely be bought out too? There's no incentive to come to LSU if they don't even know who they are playing for or know how that person will help them get to the NFL.

first off, I am aware.
secondly, I said IF we sign rashaun smith.
third thing, the majority of them see immediate playing time. they see lack of depth. they want to play in the SEC.
they are linebackers, not quarterbacks.

He has been playing not to get hurt, so you can't base his potential on games this season. The way he is playing almost guarantees he intends to leave.

This is why Chief left. His lack of recruiting left the cupboard bare. The DL also lacks talent.

Fournette is recruiting Beckwith.

I think guys like Flowers and Thornton will be able to step in year one and contribute as starters. Maybe even Divinity. LSU just needs to play these guys and cover up for their mistakes with great offense in the first year.

Will Fournette also give Beckwith a cut of his signing bonus the following year for staying??? If not, good luck with that...

Fournette wants a championship. The players believe the offense will be at that level next year...well, before all the Les stuff got huge anyway. Fournette sees Beckwith as the important piece on defense that we need to return. I just know he's in his ear about it. I don't know to what extent though.

I'm pretty sure Divinity, Fowler and Thornton see themselves as year 1 starters, not sure what other accomplished SEC defenses offer that. That's why Joyner, Davis and Smith have us in their top 3, playing time.

Kwon, Riley, Minter & Sheppard have been balling out in recent weeks which helps.
