He would be a play maker at LSU and maybe the first to show height doesn't matter.

Boomer Esiason, Neil O'Donnell and Frank Reich were all in the NFL and starting at one time. There are several that were drafted but never stuck. Shaun Hill is currently a capable backup. Huge LSU football fan and Terps hoops fan and UMD grad. GEAUX TIGERS! GO TERPS!

Reasons he’d choose Maryland:

1. They are going full spread. He fits that offense perfectly and would have less of a learning curve.

2. Maryland has had a recommitment from Under Armor to finance their athletic program like Nike does for Oregon. Facilities and “swag” for the players is about to be unreal. A lot of people in the Big 10 are worried they are going to be extremely competitive on the recruiting trail and on the field because of this in the near future.

3. He'd have a better shot at starting since its a new system. He would sit behind Harris at LSU for at least 1 year.

The crime in College Park, MD and around the U of Maryland campus is horrible. The son of my best friend wrestled there a few years ago, and he said he frequently heard gunfire, and had two scooters and a car stolen while a student. He's not a young man who has ever been in trouble or looking for trouble. He said crime was everywhere, and it was pretty scary at times.

BR is not perfect, but it would certainly be a safer place to be a student athlete...plus a chance for a natty.

Finally a degree from Maryland (depending on the major of course) carries no more weight than a degree from LSU.

Depends on what you major in...do we know what this kid wants to study?

I wouldn't bring up crime as a reason BR is better than anywhere

And I want him at LSU, but this kid is very smart and is going to make the decision that's best for him.

I know no one here wants to admit this, but sometimes that means choosing a school other than LSU.

The crime issue is much, much worse in College Park.

Violent: 2.45 Property: 30.45 Total: 32.96

Baton Rouge:
Violent: 9.35 Property: 47.16 Total: 56.51

How many QBs have Maryland sent to the NLF? Didn't LS want to play in the NFL? If so, he does not want to go to Harvard.

Maybe he's looking at what % of QB's period go to the NFL.

I honestly think Maryland is Scott's better choice here. He'll definitely get PT there. And who's to say LSU will develop him into what he needs to be...

This past Fall some friends of mine here in MD and I went to the MD vs. Bowling Green game at MD; they were selling tickets for $1 each. We tailgated for the noon kick-off and members of the Maryland Athletic Department were traveling around the parking lot (1/2 full) thanking us for coming out to tailgate. It was mid-major embarrassing. But with that said they are excited about the new coaching staff so maybe they can turn it around...

Wish I could have a honest talk with this young man.

I'd venture to guess that few people with the opportunity regret going to Harvard. Hope he thinks this through.

I have a source that said Harvard had a chance until LSU offered. Or at least Harvard thought they had a chance.

Either Doucet had incorrect information or, just as likely, things changed. Quote from Lindsey Scott Sr. in more recent article LINK:

"The plan is to sit down and talk and process everything. Harvard, Maryland, LSU and Tulane. They’re still very much in play.”

I'm an LSU grad ('08 and '11) that lives in College Park.

College Park is much safer than parts of BR. Definitely safer than Tigerland and the North Gates. I hear it had some issues about 5-10 years ago but so did most of DC.
